Oh I see.. I should have pointed out that I do have my Windows' options set to show file extensions. That's why I was already 100% certain that the .exe file was in the same folder with the test book.

So open the command prompt and go to downloads\skindle-06
(cd downloads\skindle-06) and then run

skindle -i book1.azw -o bookdone.azw
