In the Google Calendar, click Settings (from the links on the upper right corner of the screen)
Select the "Calendars" link under the "Calendar Settings" tab
Select the "Browse Interesting Calendars" link
Select the "More" under the heading
Select the "Subscribe" next to the Contacts' birthdays and events.
