You should disable auto update and update your Windows selectively. Just avoid any updates on Windows Media Player, Windows Media Player runtime and if I'm not mistaken it should be fine.

fu4m13fix2 has been realesed. It supports Windows Media Player version up to 11.0.6000.6324 and works with Windows XP, Vista x32/x64.

I'm using 11.0.6001.7000, is there a way to roll back to 11.0.6000.6324 (instead of 11.0.5) to get this version to work? Or will fairuse ever be upgraded again?
