dish dvr transfer

I have a old dish dvr with alot of old movies on it... Is there a way to transfer these movies off the old dish dvr to the new dish dvr i have now.

An external hard drive should, in theory, be able to work as long as both DVRs are on the same account.

there are forums dedicated to satellite tv that would be able to answer this question better, satelliteguys.us and dbstalk.com are good ones
