Question

Convert video from digital camera to flash video .FLV for my web-site

Hi guys,

Please excuse my dummyness but I have to find out how I can convert my ordinary videos from my digital video camera and get them ready for my Wordpress and maybe even another website.

I have used a lot of demo products and being a student I don't have much money to spare for buying some of the software out there(not more than $50) anyway. I know there are many different types of converters available but the coding of a converted video (flv) is where I am getting stuck. Once again, I just need a simple converter that will do the job and of course create the object code needed for adding to my sites.

Any thoughts folks?

Mark

Hi Mark

Sorry for the delayed response, and no problem, we all learn at sometime in our lives. :-)

For converting TO flv files, I would recomend WM Converter

You can download a FREE demo of WM Recorder and WM Converter to see if it fits your needs, check this link for more info: WM Converter

Thanks for any help!
It really depends on the format used by your digital camera. But most audio/video converters should be able to convert your digital video recordings to flash video. You can also use other formats on your web-site, for example: Windows Media .WMV video, QuickTime .MP4 and .MOV videos, Real Media .RM video. But flash video is a very good choice.

Try freeware MediaCoder to convert your recordings. It doesn't have the best interface, but it is free.

Flash 8 video Encoder can convert video to flv, but will lose some quality, for this reason, I prefer Moyea Video4Web Converter, it is free and the resulting FLV is H.264 codec.
