How to convert files from .ASF to .WMV

Hello everyone,

Anyone know of a program that can convert files from .ASF to .WMV? I have some files recorded from streams and I'd like to convert them to .WMV.

You may just rename .ASF files to .WMV.

Some streaming .ASF files need indexing to become "seekable". You mays use free software tools that can repair Windows Media files and make .ASF files seekable

Thanks Stream Recorder.

Is there any way that I can join 2 .ASF video files that I recorded from two different internet streams? I tried to use ASF Tools to do that but it doesn't work - it seems to only be able to join 2 files if they came from the same stream.

Most probably it can't join 2 files 'coz their size and/or bit-rate is different. I don't think it is possible to join such files without losing quality.

I dunno about free tools, but AVS Audio Converter can join multiple files without any problem. I usually do it with MPEG 2,4 files, but I tested it with .ASF files too.
