Convert DRM protected M4P to MP3 (converter for copy protected M4P files)

The Apple iTunes Music Store sells AAC, M4A, M4B, M4P songs and Audible audio book online, accounting for more than 80% of worldwide online digital music sales. The AAC, M4B and M4P songs sold on iTunes Music Store are encrypted with Digital Rights Management measures, while M4A is for the unprotected content.

So, if you want to listen to M4P music with other mp3 players such as Sony walkman, Zune(HD), PSP(go), Creative Zen, Sansa Fuze, Android phone (Nexus one, Droid(X/2)), HTC Phone (HTC EVO/Desire/HD2/HD7) and play itune music on xbox 360, PS3, windows media player, window movie maker or share them with your friends, you have to convert M4P to an open (DRM-free) format like MP3.

In this text, i will share two methods to convert M4P to MP3

How to convert M4P to MP3 for Non-Apple Players like Walkman, Zune HD, PSP go, Android phone ...

Method1: Burning and re-import. (M4P->CD-> MP3)

1. Burn the the M4P's onto a CD.
2. When it has finished burning, enter that CD into your computer again.
3. Click on "Audio CD" under "source" on the left side of your screen in itunes.
4. Then right click on the track you want to convert to an MP3.
5. Select "convert to MP3"
6. Once it has finished converting, copy that file to somewhere else on your computer (ex. C/Documents and Settings/User/My Documents/My Music)
7. Copy it again from where you just pasted it, and paste it into your MP3 player. (this is at least how to do it for my Nomad Jukebox).

Great post. As for drm, I know another program Adoreshare M4V Converter, this program can remove the drm protection and convert to any formats without quality. It can convert videos and audios with 30x speed. Maybe you can try

It doesnt work.
On mac - it crashes as soon it launches..
On windows 10 - itg ives this error on launch - "No iTunes installed on your computer. Please install the newest iTunes firstly."

Also, is there any software that doesn't need to rec-record for removing DRM such as just decryption etc?

What do you guys for converting apple music m4p files to m4a files?

When i download/purchase an m4a song from itunes and then convert to say alac - i get very good quality - with the spectrum going all the way to 24Khz.

But when i download a DRM protected m4p song from apple music and then convert using noteburner to say alac - i get not so good quality - the spectrum for the same song this time cuts at 20Khz only. Also re-recording the same song using audials gives a higher spectrum cut at almost 22Khz!

Is this fault of the conversion software or is apple music drm files itself of lower quality?

I understand all these are lossy way of converting the drm file and lossless way??
Has anyone else tried this - what solution does anyone has for me? Thanks to all.

I have been using Sidify Apple Music Converter to solve this problem since June, last year. It works quite great comparing with other similar program i've tried. I think it do maintain the original quality after conversion.

And one more thing i like this progam is it can also converts Audiobook.

Everyone talking about decrypting M4P files, but what about MP4? I have MP4 DRM encrypted file and i need to decrypt it.

Have you adjusted any settings? I guess this does some help to produce a better quality audio. Let's say, choose the output as FLAC or WAV, these are lossless format. If choose output as either of the two, the resulting audio quality may be better. I suggest a try.
