CCTV Internet No images?

Hi, hopefully somebody can save my sanity! I have set up my DVR for remote viewing over the internet, i can now access the DVR over the internet and can see files being recorded on the HDD etc through the web application manager, though can see no live image streams only 4 blank squares. Also when i choose a file to playback from the dvr the timeline moves and again no images. I tried to download a H.264 codec incase this was an issue but still no images, any ideas?

Re: CCTV Internet No images?

It is to do with codex.

In your case it is either a cheap Chinese DVR with no proper support.

Or your PC is missing important flash/video add-ons. (Not probable!)

I have seen this problem in the past and managed to find a solution for it, that is:

Do not use the cheap software provided by the CCTV manufacturers.
Connect to view your CCTV on internet explorer and that should work.

Re: CCTV Internet No images?

You can also use any camera sdk to show the stream of your cameras. If your cameras support onvif or rtsp, you can try this demo application. If it's working you can develop for your own because its source code is free.
