Capturing subtitles on PBS.org

A few months ago PBS changed the way their videos are served up. Adownloader and GetFLV used to be able to capture the subtitles which were in VTT format, but that's no longer the case. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Example show: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexpe...acemen/player/

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Re: Capturing subtitles on PBS.org

Thanks for the help. When I view the source of the page I linked to, I don't find the same info as you. Is it because we are in different locations that we're not seeing the same URL for the player? For me it is:

http://player.pbs.org/partnerplayer/...r=true &end=0

...which contains a link to an XML subtitle file:

http://ga.video.cdn.pbs.org/captions...7_Encoded.dfxp

I am not finding any .srt files. Strange.

EDIT: Okay, I just noticed you used the main PBS page, not the WGBH one. Now I'm seeing it.

Find the master .m3u8 and use ffmpeg to save to .ts. Then use ccextractor to get your .srt.

You can use subtitleedit to convert from dfxp to srt.

Just tried pasting URLs into adownloader and when I do, the program closes, whether I use proxies or not.
