Try to open the HTTP plugin options and uncheck the "convert all audio to mp3". It will go back to normal...

Is there anything for the mac like that?

I can't suggest you any Mac software, but you can use Replay Media Catcher and Replay Music on a Mac with Bootcamp or Parallels Desktop for Max OS X
