Can't remove DRM with FU4WM1.3 fix2: Error: No license available for specified fileI have a DRM'd WMV that I got for FREE LEGALLY as part of a promotion. The thing is, I was supposed to get a download....not a rental download for joining this site! Their customer support is non-existent and I am seriously considering dropping my membership. Anyway, I have the latest FU4WM and mirakagi, WMP10, and Windows XP Media Center 2004.
First I start up my file and get the license, then put it on pause. I start mirakagi and click start to get the keys and this is what I get: Mirakagi starts, code version 0.9 Found 64 keys in keyring. It is finished.. That's it. Then I run FU4WM. It says it has 64 keys loaded and then I click recover keys. My DRMclien.dll is version 10.0.0.3802 and my Indivbox.key is version 10.0.0.3930. Once I select my file it gives me the following error: "No license available for specified file". How is that possible? I can play the file just fine as many times I want for an unknown period of time (they just told me it was rental after I downloaded). Also I saw in many posts where you copied the keys or something from mirakagi to some kind of text file created by FU4WM, but I never saw any text file. I have both mirakagi and FU4WM running in a folder on my desktop. Thanks for any help! p.s. Hey all, before you say it, I have searched through the topics and read at least 17 pages of this crazy topic before I post my question. sorry this is a copy of a post I cannot make at the doom9 forum since they need 5 days before I can post |

Resolving error "No license available for specified file" for one play license media"not licensed to you" errors
"not licensed to you" errors usually appear because content provider wants to track viewers of .WMV video files and listeners of .WMA audio files. If you encountered this error, you are very likely running into a "one play" license. FairUse4WM only works if you have a license and doesn't have the ability (... yet ... ) to ask the servers for a new license. The solution to this is let FairUse4WM use the license instead of Media Player by acquiring but not playing the file.
If you downloaded your media files legally from a media content provider like Yahoo! Music Unlimited, Napster, Unbox, etc. simply log into your account with that service and then attempt to play the media file in the Windows Media Player. It should automatically prompt you to download the licenses to play your audio or video files. After acquiring licenses you may try to use FairUse4WM again. If you downloaded your audio/video file from some illegal source, you can't remove DRM protection from the media file, unless you can somehow get a license from the original content provider. We do not support such activity and we won't help you to get such licenses. Please do not ask about it in the forum. DRM protection can only be removed if you have valid licenses. And it doesn't matter whether you use lossy or lossless DRM removal software like FairUse4WM. If you don't have valid licenses then your media content is useless. Notice: Please note that DRM removal software are intended to be used to make fair-use backups only. Although these programs can remvoe DRM protection whether you've purchased or just rented the file, please do not abuse rental licenses. |
