Can't get WMREcorder 11.2 to work: "cannot find recording directory" error

Hi,
I just installed my WM Recorder and can't get it to work.
I've tried both the ADA and PRO modes with AUTO on.

I've tried playing a variety of streaming media like on BUDTV and YouTube, but it won't start recording no matter what I do.

When I put it in ADA mode it says "cannot find recording directory", but it lets me select it.

When I tell it to run a test for internet connection, it says everything is ok.

I've tried everything... please help!

I'm using version 11.2 on Windows XP

Re: Can't get WMREcorder to work

To change your recordings directory:
1. Click "Settings"
2. In the "WMR Options" window on the "General" tab click the "Recordings Folder" button.
3. Select the directory (you can also create the new one in this dialog window if necessary).
4. Click "OK". Click "OK" one more time.

Make sure you start recording with WM Recorder (or start its Auto recording mode) before playing any streaming video.

At services like YouTube flash video HTTP streams are cached by your browser. If you have already played your .FLV video you won't be able to record it with WM Recorder. I know only one stream recorder that can get flash files from your cache folder - it is Replay A/V.

To get these cached videos you can open the cache folder of your web browser and just copy the flash video files from it. Alternatively you may clean your browser cache, start recording with WM Recorder and then (only then) start your browser and replay the video streams so that WM Recorder can record them in the Auto recording mode.

See if you can setup the recording folder on the C drive. Check also the
registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WMR11\Settings

The recording folder name is under "My Recordings"

Also, please download the upgrade WMR 11.3

Can't get WMREcorder 11.2 to work: "cannot find recording directory" error

I am having the very same problem with the "cannot find recording directory" error message. I've checked my windows registry and this (below) is what I've come up with. Is it missing an entry to point to the "recording directory"? Can I just put that in there manually?

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WMR11]
"RegCode"="abc123"
"Directory"="C:\\Program Files\\WMR11"
