Re: Can't find Stereo Mix in Audacity (Windows 7 / Vista)?I really want to get Audacity to record music using "stereo mix" or "What U Hear" in Windows Vista, but I don't have any of those options in my list of recording devices. I have "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices" checked, so I should be seeing everything that is there.
All I see is "microphone array" and "Microphone/Line-in." Trying to record things like streaming music is terrible with a microphone. I really need a way to get the stereo mixer option. I've been reading about a lot of people who have the same problem. I have a Sigmatel integrated sound card in my Dell XPS M1530 laptop. I have installed all the latest drivers. Please help. |

Re: Can't find Stereo Mix in Audacity (Windows 7 / Vista)? If you use Windows 7, Vista or XP, you can try to enable your Stereo Mix / Wave-Out Mix from the Control Panel, by updating drivers and installing alternative drivers:
Missing sound recording option "Stereo Mix" / "Record What you hear" / "Waveout mix" Or you can use software that doesn't need Stereo Mix for recording: Audio/video recording software that allows to record sound without WaveOut/Stereo Mix (Windows 7, Vista, XP) |
