Cannot record streams from secure web sites

I have WM Recorder 14 and am running it in Classic View:
- Mode: ADA - AUTO ON - Scheduler OFF
- Adapter 2 OK - IP nnn.nnn.n.nnn
- Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100 (Microsoft's Packet Scheduler)

It records some streams that open automatically (i.e. I don't click on the stream to run it) but when I click on a link, it does not automatically record it.

I tried the following:
1. I found the URL of the page where the video is located in my Temporary Internet Folders, entered it in the URL window and clicked on Record but received "Invalid URL"
2. I entered the full path of the .swf file name in the URL window and clicked on Record but received "Invalid URL"
3. I turned Auto Recording off and clicked on Record but to no avail.

Help!

You need to paste the URL of a stream, not the URL of a web-page.

SWF files can be used as Flash Video Players. You can copy SWF files from the cache of your web-browser.

Some streams use protocols and formats that can't be recorded with WM Recorder. For example, WMR doesn't support secure RTMPE streams.

Please post or PM the URLs of the web-pages you have problems recording from.

Re: Cannot record streams from secure web sites

Since the web-site requires registration, I can't check this for you.

You can try to install the demo version of Replay Media Catcher or Jaksta and see whether they can record the video or show any error messages.

If RTMPE protocol is used, the stream won't be recorded neither with WM Recorder, nor with Replay Media Catcher or Jaksta.

You can also try to find the stream URL with freeware URL Snooper. I can give you more suggestions depending on the stream URL (or format and protocol used).
