Can I Use Windows Media Player to burn movies DVD To Watch on TV


I have movies in mp4 file format, I want to Burn them on DVDs so I can play them on my TV DVD player. Can I use Windows-Media-Player or windows DVD maker to burn them. I would also Like to know how to convert them to the right format I'm not vary computer savy I need lots of help.
