You can use screen recorders that the web-site doesn't know.

Or you can try to open your web-site on a virtual machine and record video from a guest OS on a host OS.

Wow - I didn't know any websites were able to detect this. I'd like to take a look at this just for kicks and giggles - Can you please provide me with the URL of the audio or video you're trying to record, so I can take a look?

Thanks!

Re: Bypass screen record detectors?

Hi! Thanks a lot for everyone's response. this is the website:
Code:
https://www.usmleworld.com/Step2CK/step2ck_demo.aspx
u need a passwd to get into the real test, but the demo gives a fair idea.

Stream Recorder: any way i cld find out which s/ware works, coz with repeated copying attempts they threaten legal action. also, virtual host like teamviewer?

The demo is just an SWF file, so it doesn't help much.

Legal actions for running a screen recorder? How could they possibly prove that you will be using it for recording from their web-site, not from some other source?

You can install Windows onto a virtual machine like free Virtual Box. And then try to access this web-sites from on a virtual machine.

Please note that some web-sites do not allow you to access them from a virtual machine. usmleworld.com can be one of them.

p.s. They don't support Linux, although Windows and Mac is supported. Weird web-site. I would avoid it.

You can probably use TeamViewer or any other remote access software to record as well.

Please note that even if you can't use a screen recorder, you can always use a video out like S-Video, VGA, HDMI and record with an external device like a camcorder, DVD Recorder,...

Here is a screen recorder that works (See an icon with Magic Wand):

Do you know what kind of program was used?

Re: Bypass screen record detectors?

Do you want to record videos or just make screenshots? If you need screenshots only, you can press Alt + Print Screen, and then paste video into Windows Paint, GIMP, Paint.NET,...

You can also install a virtual PDF printer like freeware PDFCreator and then print into PDF.

Re: Bypass screen record detectors?

hi.thanks for replying. screenshots would def. do, but the qbank s/ware blocks any keyboard input while it's running and also blocks screenshot taking s/wares like snagit.
