Replay Media Catcher -4.0.14
- New MusicDNS implementation (stops hanging and supports unicode tags)
- New Yahoo playlist support
- Reverted f4v file extension change from 4.0.12
- Ensure ASF streaming always passes file size detection
- 3 new Audio Extraction conversion presets
- Fixed crash in firefox browser cache
- Ports to filter on now takes 5 digit port numbers
- MusicDNS lookups will now not happen for avi's and asf files.
thanks.

i need to apologize then (Oops, sori! )
okay.. but when you do this, your mp3 file gets tagged:
comment field: Downloaded with Replay Media Catcher 4 - www.applian.com
encoded by field: Lavf52.32.0

uncool

while i can confirm that, when you remove those 2 tag fields, the files are identically (crc32) the same (RMC4 vs. FLVExtract), FLVExtract launches faster, processes much faster. And is free!

RMC4 does not extract the audio but it uses ffmpeg to convert the audio (within the FLV-file) from its original format within the FLV (can be mp3, aac, ...) to your specified format (can, again, be mp3, mp4, m4a, ...).

audio extraction is a lossless process. (FLVExtract)
audio conversion is a lossy process. (RMC4 )

RMC3 does have the functionality to extract mp3 from flv, given that the flv contains original mp3 audio data. but with flv's from myspace, RMC3 has problems to identify and extract the mp3 data.

anyway we can cut the discussion (or the thread). audio from myspace is low bitrate (96kbps. not 128!) and i am not interested in wasting my time with playing with such kiddo audio thanks!

all audio i download and archive (collect) is in 192-320. exceptional rare albums exist in LQ (64, 128). but myspace couldnt be called an exception: it is a whole huge website!!
well you used to be able to get the original songs in HQ
