BBC Radio to CD (Ripping Real Audio stream and burning to Audio CD)I want to rip BBC radio programs off the Radio 4 website and make audi CDs of them that will play in my car (I have a long commute). I would want to do it from the links that point at previously broadcast programs rather than the live feed. Has anybody done this or do they have advice on how to do it?
I downloaded a free Real Audio ripper from somewhere but got nowhere with it. I do not mind paying a little for a tool that works. thanks This is a trypical link I wanted to rip: http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/radio4/int/-...4/saturdayplay |

Downloading with Real Audio ripper and burning with NeroDownloading with any Real Audio ripper and burning with Nero (recommended option)
If you use Nero to burn CDs and DVDs, you may download RealNetworks RealMedia/RealAudio plug-in and burn Real Audio/Real Media files to Audio CD. Please read more about Audio/Video plug-ins for Nero at http://stream-recorder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48 In this case you may use any stream recorder supporting Real Video/Real Audio like RM Recorder to download Real Audio files for the following conversion. |

Downloading with Real Audio ripper, converting to WAV and burning to Audio CDDownloading with any Real Audio ripper, converting to WAV and burning with any CD burning software (recommended option)
First of all use any stream recorder supporting Real Video/Real Audio like RM Recorder to download Real Audio/Real Media files. Then use Audio and video conversion software like free Streambox Ripper or commercial Xilisoft Video Converter to convert Real Audio/Real Media files to WAV. |

Capturing Real Audio files with r7c to WAV and burining CD AudioCapturing Real Audio files with r7c (Real7ime Converter) to WAV and burining with any CD burning software
r7c is a free Real Audio/Real Video stream ripper that can capture to directly WAV. r7c is not software I like. The developer stopped supporting it long ago, so I suggest you to use one of the first two options. Yet again you may burn WAV files to Audio CD using your favorite CD burning software. |

Recording Real Audio stream to WAV with direct sound recording softwareRecording Real Audio with direct sound recording software
Direct sound recording software can record any sound produced by your sound card. Most of such programs can record to MP3 and WAV. This is not really a good option, 'coz it won't allow you to record several streams simultaneously. Besides the quality of such recording depends on your internet connection, sound card quality, software settings. Yet again you may burn WAV files to Audio CD using your favorite CD burning software. |

Capture stream, convert it and burn to a CD with Replay A/V (one step needed)You can do everything in one step with Replay A/V. It stream captures, then converts, then burns a CD, automatically.
It's free to try. You may read more about Replay A/V at http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-AV....Free-to-try.htm Edited by Admin |

Stream capture Real Audio/Media as MP3. Good idea?Quote:
It's always nice to leave the captured Real Audio, Real Media (.ra, .ram, .rm) files or any other original files like Windows Media, Nullsoft audio, etc. Why leaving them? I might not like the conversion settings of Replay A/V I used. I might wanna use different settings for another device or for whatever reason. We live in a DVD era and there is no problem in storing these files. Although I do suggest to capture Real Audio/Real Media streams with a nice software like Replay A/V, but using its "Raw stream capture (Windows Media, Real Media)" feature. Bill, may be you can add a checkbox "Leave raw files after conversion" to the Replay A/V. And one more thing. I can create an Audio CD with Replay A/V when using it as a direct sound recording software (using "Capture by recording Audio output" feature). However I can't "Capture by downloading" to WAV (only to raw Real/WM or to MP3) for the following Audio CD burning. Has something changed in the newest version? |
