Avtech 761 remote viewing

Hi all

Just wondered if you could help me. I have a avtech 761 that i can not see outside my network. I am using a dyndns address that works fine internally but from outside it just shows the avtech software but not the pictures. I have probably missed something simple but cant work out what it is. I am using it with a netgear router on sky broadband. I can also access it using my phone but only from my home wifi network.

could anyone help me please

Thanks Wendy

I don't know a lot about these types of devices, but in general, when accessing services on my local network from an outside IP there is usually a twin requirement that first all required ports are being correctly forwarded by your router, and secondly that any device specific configuration is correct, i.e. are there any options to turn on 'remote access' or something similar. If this fails, could you put the device in your DMZ?

I am curious if you allowed for active x in IE? ( I cannot help you in regards to other browser types).

Sometimes people may not be able to load active x. They may have to go to tools, and select internet options, and then select the security tab, and then Customer Level, and then go to

Active X controls and plug ins

and scroll down to Download unsigned active x controls.

Close all browser windows, and reopen and connect to your DVR.

Would this be the issue that you are having?

Are you using a browser to view or are you using the supplied software to view?
