I can't seem to get music from Deezer to download.

It seems to be behind a Flash player, but my usual tools don't work. I tried Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) and WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm).

I imagine Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) would work as it records everything through the sound card. However, I would like to save/download the file directly though.

I don't know if I need to add a MIME type to Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) to make it work. If there is one that I need to add what would it be?

And I don't know why the types of things WM Recorder can get isn't covered in whatever Dezeer is using. Anyone know what Dezeer is using?

Any help to be able to save/download these files is appreciated.

It is possible, but I have the feeling helping you with this one would not be right. I mean, I see no difference in using p2p software.

Open Safari web-browser. Open its Activity Monitor (cmd-opt-a, or in the pulldown under Window). Move the Activity Monitor so that you can see it alongside the browser window.
Navigate to Deezer
Find a song on Deezer, but don't play it yet.
Find the Deezer page's link in the Activity Monitor and click the "triangle-reveal-thingy" on the link's left to show the contents of that page.
In the Safari browser, click Play on the tune.
Look in the Activity Monitor on the items listed below the Deezer page link. The one that's growing/streaming, says 0.3 (0.4, 0.5, 0.6) of "X"mb, that's your boy.
Option-double-clicking on that growing link will download it to your drive.
The file on your drive will have some nonsensical name of letters and numbers. Rename it to .mp3 file.
Now it's ready to open with your MP3 music player.


This technique works for lots and lots of stuff, movies, pictures, audio, etc., but it is limited to http:// links only.

Click "Start sniffing" in it.
Open your browser and navigate to deezer and start playing a tune with it.
In the URL Snooper search for the URLs having something like proxy-5.blogmusik.net string.
Download an MP3 song from "proxy-5.blogmusik.net" using any download manager or your browser.

Run Firefox
Install DownloadHelper add-on and restart Firefox.
Open "Customize Toolbar" dialog. Find the icon for DownloadHelper and drag it onto the toolbar at the top.
Right click on the icon of Download helper -> Preferences -> MediaReq tab. Add "php" as a supported extension.
Navigate to deezer and play a song that you want to download.
You should see the icon of DownloadHelper being animated (spinning) now.
Click on the down arrow on the icon (not on the icon itself). Then click on cacheDiffusion.php and in the Save file dialog, name it to filename.mp3.

Note that it is not possible to download more than one song (like all the songs in a playlist) at a time from this site.

Navigate to deezer and play a tune.
On your local computer open the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp
You can open it by going to Start -> Run, typing %temp% and clicking the OK button.
Find for a folder called plugtmp-[some_number]. You want the folder with the highest number after plugtmp- (the first and oldest plugtmp folder will have no -[number] part in the folder name).
You should find a bunch of files called cacheDiffusion.php or cacheDiffusion-[number].php.
If not, then go to the folder with the next lower number until you find the files.
Rename the .php file to .mp3.
You can now play the mp3 file with your favorite MP3 player!
For whatever reason the trick doesn't work. May be the trick works with a web-browser other than Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Obviously this trick as well as other non-working ones posted here for educational purpose only. You can use them with a service that doesn't prohibit saving music! Deezer clearly states that saving music from it is illegal!

Open the Firefox web-browser
Download and install the Tamper Data extension for Firefox. Restart Firefox.
Set up Tamper Data to force Firefox to cache everything, even if the server requests that the data not be cached (which is what Deezer does). So, when you play a song in Deezer’s player with Tamper Data on, the song is forced into the cache - and that’s where you can find it!
Navigate to deezer and play a tune.
Open the cache folder of your Firefox. You can also type "about:cache" (without quotes) in the address bar and click enter to find the list of Cache Entries and the path to the cache folder.
Look for the big entry with the name CacheDiffusion.php; this is the song. Click the link.
Refresh the page; if the data size changes, the song hasn’t finished loading, and you should wait.
Once the song has loaded, set Firefox to Work Offline, just in case; we don't want to accidentally make any extra requests to Deezer’s servers.
Right click on the link and save as songname.mp3. If Tamper Data comes up, okay the request; nothing is being sent out, though, because we’re in Firefox’s offline mode.
Cleanup: turn Tamper Data off and turn off the offline mode.

Obviously there is some kind of problem with clicking on the link from the cache. Why should one do that? You can wait until the song finishes playing and grab the song from the cache folder of the Firefox.

The problem is that Tamper Data doesn't cache these entries even though the forced caching option is turned on.

This trick is posted here for educational purpose only. You can only record music from services that doesn't prohibit saving music from them! Deezer clearly states that saving music from it is illegal!

Obviously Deezer have a weak content protection. For whatever reason my Internet Explorer 7 caches their music. And there is a Dysnomia Project that created a flash plug-in pretending to be Deezer flash plug-in. Besides computer geeks can easily analyze post request to deezer server so that it will be easy to download music from Deezer.

But all the tricks violate the ToS of Deezer.com so you shouldn't use them!

As for Deezer, they should probably use proprietory music protocols and/or formats. Otherwise not only direct sound recording software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/direct-sound-recording.htm) will be used to get music from their service.

Besides they should state clearly on every page that recording music from the service violates their ToS.

It's a old post but I haven't found a page with a method that is working. I found a work around, it's long but it works.
You will need a software call Unlocker, you can get it from http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/. Install it, it's pretty straightforward.


Go to Deezer and play a tune.

Go to temporal folder doing Start -> Run, typing %temp%

Find a file with the name flaXXX.tmp, this is the song.

Left click on it and use the Unlocker.

Use the Copy Action and save the file with .flv extension.

Now you can play the .flv or convert it to mp3.

I don't know what V3 Deezer is. I just went to deezer.com and captured several FLV files using Web Stream Dumper of Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm). Other methods of capturing FLV files or getting them from the cache of your browser should also work.

If you experience any problems with the new Deezer, please be more specific.

Deezer v3 uses 400kB chunks of data. May be they are not encrypted and can be just joined with some audio editor, but it seems to be too complicated.

Untill someone writes a program specifically for Deezer v3, I can only recommend to use Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm).

they split a song into multiple segments of 400kb data

i just tried to download from deezer v3,all the splitted 400kb mp3s are corrupted,you can listen the file but it has some noisy voice in the mp3 file

i used http debugger to download the chunk data
i saved the files one by one once the debugger sniff a new url
so the order must be correct

i was curious to test their service for the sake of testing. since many ppl know it (and i am the last in line :p), i wont post screenshots. just a short info summary on Premium Plus membership for Dutch surfers:
+ you need paypal or credit card if you sign up for a 14-days deezer premium+ trial subscription
+ you can stream music thru browser webinterface (French IP needed for access to full catalogue, e.g. Michael Jackson), or you can stream music thru software DeezerDesktop.exe (Dutch IP sufficient)
+ if you decide to use the software, you must install Adobe AIR (http://www.adobe.com/products/air/) because DeezerDesktop is based on Adobe AIR technology (and the website is fully :eek: based on Adobe Flash applications)
+ in both cases streaming music is cached on hdd in Temporary Internet Files folder; the 320kbps streams are chunked into 1000KB-parts HQ :); and if you switch to 128kbps you will find fewer parts and all in 400KB.
+ streaming protocol is http:// and the tracks can be downloaded with any web browser

The deezer software allows you to save entire albums on your PC. Simply go to Preferences >> Cache manager >> Empty the cache >> Location >> C:\Deezercache >> Save.

Then when you're listening to a full album, hit the "Synchronize the album"-button right next to the "Listen to the album"-button. Wait until the full album is downloaded to hdd (until the green button appears on the left-hand side panel). Then go offline by Preferences >> Switch to disconnected mode >> Save.

Now you can listen to your saved album in HQ (320kbps) thru the Deezer software in offline mode from your PC's hdd. What else do you need? You have the album. On your hdd. And it is in HQ. When you want to listen to it, you simply launch the Deezer software and play it (offline).

Ah? you want to have MP3 files instead of the 1000KB-parts? Then let me ask you WHY: WHY does it matter to you whether you play the 1000KB's (per track) with Deezer or a single MP3 (per track) with foobar??

Ok, for those who REALLY need a single file per track:
Feel free to record the music (produced by offline DeezerDesktop.exe) with TotalRecorder or ReplayMusic but i recommend to convert the tracks directly to some convenient format, e.g. MP3 (320kbps). You can find FREE (illegal?) third-party plugins for foobar2000 for Deezer cache files on the inet/audio forums (http://www.google.com) .. but i am not gonna detail on this. S'your business. :rolleyes:

i would say it's a matter of taste. Maybe i like it/i prefer it because it is *the* original. TR is quite legendary with its long tradition (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Recorder) and old ;) usership. Similar situation: the legendary ghisler.com's Windows Commander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Commander) (now: Total Commander) vs. M$'s Windows Explorer. Total Commander is so much more sophisticated than explorer.exe but in the end we use both for the same primitive functions: copy, move, rename :rolleyes: There are ppl who simply like TC and others who like Windows Explorer. For doing the same daily work.

As mentioned, i've acquired personal licenseship for both tools. Some ppl prefer HEINZ KETCHUP only because the sticker on the bottle says HEINZ THE ORIGINAL and not because it actually tastes better than the discounter's generic.

Total Recorder or Replay Recorder.. both are useless in a way that you have to do either ATTENDED recording to stop n record between tracks OR you have to do post processing in an editor to extract all tracks individually. The earlier programs (that i got from here) like Deezer Freezer etc were so good to save the files automatically with track names.. Pity that Deezer has banned my country and i 've to apply proxies to just listen to the songs produced in my own country. Shud i sue them?

Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) allows to identify the most popular songs only. You may also have problems with the newest songs... it may take time for them to appear in the database.

However if you have problems with all the songs, then most probably your firewall is blocking Replay Music from accessing the identification service.

I tried both TR and Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) (RM) 3, here's my thoughts

TR - powerful but complicated a bit. Didn't find where to adjust automated track splitting and tag setting for several files (i.e. when recording an album). Recording directly to MP3. Solid and reliable.

RM 3 - easy with one-touch setup. Smooth track spltting. Easy tag handling. But sometime mp3 conversion freezes on song identification. Recording in WAV and then converting it to MP3.

I had compared spectrums in WAV/PCM and 192 kbit MP3 via Adobe Audition. I think, RM3 produces slightly better, "meaty" WAV from stream than TR does, resulting in better MP3 encoding.

I'm on RM3, but will give TR extensive testing.

They've put up The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack (http://www.deezer.com/fr/music/hans-zimmer/the-dark-knight-rises-4014811), but it's greyed put (not available in your country) everywhere, tried different proxies including France. I'm able to get the 30sec samples by copying the MD5 hash from each track into the general sample url for example http://preview-7.deezer.com/stream/463df29267e0e503584bc3e258b2e81b-0.mp3
Tried tracking HTTP requests to get those broken up 400kb files from the full tracks with other songs, nothing. Anyone able to help? Thanks!

Replay Music 7 is able to record Deezer for me. Just play the music, set audio source as default then begin recording.:D

here it goes:
The deezer software allows you to save entire albums on your PC. Simply go to Preferences >> Cache manager >> Empty the cache >> Location >> C:\Deezercache >> Save.

Then when you're listening to a full album, hit the "Synchronize the album"-button right next to the "Listen to the album"-button. Wait until the full album is downloaded to hdd (until the green button appears on the left-hand side panel). Then go offline by Preferences >> Switch to disconnected mode >> Save.

Now you can listen to your saved album in HQ (320kbps) thru the Deezer software in offline mode from your PC's hdd. What else do you need?

This is a very nice hint. Makes it so easy and you are correct on my computer i don't need anything else! So cheers for that.

But when I am travelling I want to have my songs in a mp3 file format and for capture Deezer (http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_internet_radios/deezer.html) I am still using Audials Tunebite (see the link)
So there are good reasons for wanting the music in a structured mp3 Format.

Going crazy trying to figure this out, with the deezer.com and deezer.link source what exactly can be done to decrypt the mp3? I am able to download them but like mentioned before they sound jumbled due to encryption. Does the deezer.link or groovesquid source include script for decryption? What should be done first? So I was able to decrypt a downloaded file with the help of the deezer.java file.

But the getDownloadUrl() function seems to be broken. I always get a wrong url.
Especially line 90 and 91:

I was not able to get a working URL, so I did something else.

I made a small Java program, that opens a text file with URLs and downloads them.

To get the URLs I used URL Snooper 2 (https://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/urlsnooper/).

Click on File -> Advanced Mode, if not already active.
Enter "deezer.com/mobile" in the "Must Contain:" Field and press Sniff Network.
Then just skip through the Songs you want to download from deezer.

Then Click on File -> Export -> Save all URLs to File (just urls)

To decrypt a file, use getBlowfishKey(Long SongID) to get and set the BlowfishKey and then line 120 to 150 from the posted Deezer.java file.
So instead of downloading a file and then load it into an inputstream, read it directly.

I've got it mate. If you had the high quality thing ticked, it will only get the ones available in 320 but when I unticked the High quality thing in settings, I were able to snatch them using url snooper :D

I'm actually a quality whore so that's why it kinda matters to me so I can say basically the script is in it's perfect conditions and I'll ask a friend of mine about what you just asked for and see if he can helps :)

That's probably because the files are still in the browser cache. So when you unchecked the high quality box, they got reloaded and showed up.

If they don't show up, you can also clear the browser cache. That worked for me.

Thing I don't get is that the downloaded files (from browser cache or direct d/l) are playable and that they sound anything like the original recordings - when any good enc. is used it should not "leak" anything related to the contents.

While I am very grateful to Sparx for his ingenuity, I am afraid that, although I consider myself moderately intelligent, I have absolutely no programming experience, and his instructions, though maybe easily followed by the most intuitive or experienced, are impossible for me to comprehend.

I managed to download the jar file, and unzipped it with WinZip, but I have no idea how to get it to 'run' or how to get it to snatch and convert tracks from Deezer.

A real idiots guide for an old-timer would be much appreciated.

The beauty of the original deezer.link was that it required nothing but to activate the bookmarklet, after which the track was yours in a matter of seconds. I'd really love to be able to liberate some tracks again but can't figure it out.

Don't extract the jar file!

Install Java (http://www.java.com/en/download/), if you don't have it, and then run the jar file like any other program.

I notice that it is not possible to cut and paste URL, nor is it possible to autofill so that every track is selected - but these are minor problems.

The only other thing I would say (apart from 'Thank You') is that (for obvious reasons) it would be better if I could route it via Zenmate to anonimise

You can, but you need to use shortcuts (like Ctrl+V on windows).
To select all songs press on "invert selection"

Saving settings comes with the next version.

The cover size will stay at 500x500, because that's the the biggest cover size deezer has.
I can get 1000x1000 px images, but they look crappy. I think they get just upscaled if you try to get anything beyond 500px

I can see it and play it via German using Zenmate but if I access Deezer from the UK it redirects to this album https://www.deezer.com/album/1288617 which is the German one with a different title and without bonus tracks.

It would be good if it worked on all national versions of Deezer

Thanks for your reply - I think the reason that you can download both is that you are in Germany, where the bonus track edition is issued. There is nothing on the UK edition that isn't on the German one so there is nothing restricted from you. I still can't access it here.

The version you linked is not listed as an alternative version by the API, so I can't exchange it automatically. Sorry.
So if the download of a single track fails, you have to look for another version by yourself.

That's because of the fucking tagging library I use. It throws an exception because it doesn't know the genre "Electro" -.-

I will use another library in the next version. Then something like this won't happen any more.

Failed to record with Replay Music? It's weird.
Maybe you can try Streaming Audio Recorder, I used it to record Deezer MP3 (http://www.apowersoft.com/convert-deezer-to-mp3.html) successfully. It doesn't support direct download, just record songs or playlist while listening.

The songs are just not available on deezer. Not even the preview works.
If you look into the API, like this King Of My Castle (Roy Malone Kings Mix / Edit) (http://api.deezer.com/track/102292634), and the "available_countries" field is empty, they can't be downloaded.

maybe patching just this should do the trick disabling
"Synthetica - Unregistered Evaluation Copy!"
and other limitation.

Getting this to return true can be probably done by some simple byte patching the class file.

I find it easier to sort based on SongID especially when an album has 2 or more version but still use same album title (usually when there are clean and explicit version).

FLAC isn't likely to come. It looks like they use a different encryption for them and I have no way to debug the sonos stuff.
For the Track Numbers use the pattern in the settings like k4k45h1 said.

Are you able to update the program with the following features:

1. Is it possible to include 4 search fields for Song, Album, Artist & Deezer URL? More specific searches can be performed then as the current search takes sometime and searches for everything.

2. Include a button (say "Open Folder") to open the destination folder where the music is saved.

3. Ability to stream and play the track instead of downloading it (or) Play the downloaded track right from the program (I think this should be possible).

Just my comments about your ideas:

As for the manifest: I used OSX and Ubuntu to patch the application. Somehow, OSX and Ubuntu seem to run the JAR file even with the wrong manifest format.
Note to self: Next time, I should test the patched application on all platforms.

To the proposed simpler patch: I also saw the possibility of patching RootPanePainter.class.
Unfortunately after changing IsEvalCopy, the re-compilation process failed and I lost my patience, so I returned to my original quick-and-dirty patch. As you said, patching the bytecode might have solved the problem and is definitely the more elegant technique.

Thanks again for fixing my fix and making it executable on all platforms.

I tried to remove the red "Synthetica - Unregistered Evaluation Copy" in every window, but as explained above, my patched JAR only worked on OSX and Linux.

App not work since 7 Dec 2015 & Rip Musics By Poor 128 Kbps !

Confirmed here too, it's working fine but sometimes the download is SLOW and some musics downloads in poor 128KBPS, like here: http://www.deezer.com/album/11832928

It downloads with 128kbps, check it by yourself, you'll see that i'm not lying.

That has nothing to do with the encryption. Everyone can access that information via their JavaScript API.
I am not deezer, so I have no idea why they release some of the songs in lower quality.
And by the way, there have been 128kb/s or 256kb/s only songs for a while, not just since december.

You have to call the JavaScript API directly to get that info.
But it is no use for you, except you can access their internal files^^
It's just the source file they used to make the mp3s.

The flac streaming links look completely different.

The streaming link is exactly what you want, if you try to download the flac file.
But the link is not visible, except you sniff it in you network while streaming flac.

The FULL_PATH_ORIGIN variable is a path on their filesystem. I doubt you can access that.
To get it, you have to call the JavaScript API, as I told you before.

I'm using this for 2 months already, no problems... dont worry about this, deezer can't touch you, they can just "patch" this download method, they can't do anything more than that...

Hello guys, long time lurker, first time poster: I was wondering if the Deezer downloader has stopped working for anyone else?

Symptoms - attempting to downloaded checkmarked music causes DOWNLOADING to appear but 0kbps download and progress bar doesn't move. After a while the program becomes IDLE again. No music in folder, I disabled antivirus, made sure it was unblocked, rebooted computer, updated java, redownloaded it - nothing seems to make it work again (worked perfectly before). ;~;

I've tried on a second computer and it doesn't work either. Opened deezer in a web browser and it opens up just fine. I've even tried running it under a VPN and it doesn't work.

And at the same time, I can't rip from rdio anymore because they've closed.

I was using Deezer and Rdio to download hard to find spotify tracks, is the only option left to soundcard record? I've tried to dl the mobile links from the site in the past as it plays but they're distorted beyond recognition ;_;

I use my own tag script, i get all my tags from iTunes (with MP3Tag) so, i don't have any problems...

MP3Tag is annoying for iTunes artworks (100x100) when in reality it's easy to get source file artwork. But they now changed that too.

It is possible add the copyright on the tag rather than the date of out of the albums?,in some albums or tracks says 0000-00-00 in the date, In the copyright puts correctly the year

Click "Show Settings" and in "File Name Pattern" enter this:
%Artist%_-_%Title%___320

Personally I prefer iTunes style naming with Artist added too:
%TitleNr% %Artist% - %Title% :)
