Same here using 9.8.89.18. Sure enough, it's saving in ANSI format instead of UTF-8, as you've described. Nice to have the subtitles back, but would be better to have them decoded properly.

Got the newest version of getflv and have the latest flash. Still after owning this program for weeks I have never successfully downloaded a hulu stream. The only thing that can do it is screen capture software and that is not classified as ripping plus there are free programs that can already do that. It's possible that I'm missing something but, I kind of doubt it at this point in the game. So, please tell us. Are you screen capping or are you literally downloading directly from their servers?

This is all straight forward and I doubt you're doing anything different than I am. So, why would I continuously get "normal download method failed" message. Then it asks if I want to record in rtmp mode and that too fails. If downloading HuLu was a success with this product then this forum would be glowing with people recommending it but, they're not. All I hear is "fail" "refund" etc etc. For every yes there is 25 no's.

Downloading from the regular hulu website is smooth and consistent but, as soon as I try at http://download.hulu.com/huludesktop.swf I get the same problems I had initially with the original site. If I was able to work the original site's problem out by simply rebooting the PC I thought that would work for the desktop site but, it's not. So, you really have no problems at all getting the 3200K file? Man I really wish I knew what I was doing wrong because it should just be so simple.

I think what he is asking is if the authors of GetFLV have some way of being able to detect the higher quality HD streams from the web interface of Hulu instead of needing to use Hulu Desktop which has been discontinued for about 1.5 years now and will most likely disappear in the future. I'm sure it means that you will need a paid Hulu account (they've dropped the Plus name as of a few weeks ago). I think the desktop may also be the reason the streams have such varying download rates and errors with being unable to download as Jinjoni is experiencing. I've had those problems too but it was usually solved by simply exiting the program and restarting it.

I have attempted to use another program which does see the higher quality streams once you are logged into Hulu, but it cannot download them. GetFLV is still the only program I know of that can consistently download successfully from Hulu.

One issue I continually have is trying to download a full HD movie using the 3100K stream. More often than not it will just stop somewhere near the last part of the movie, depending on the length of it. It's typically in the 70-90% range. Trying to pause and then restart it usually results in a failure.

So are the higher bitrate streams only available using Hulu Desktop?

That is the link to the last episode of the xfiles. I seem to be able to access 1000k streams only. I am using my buddy's purchase, though he is a slight version or two back. He is afraid to update with all of the crashes and issues he has gone through. I am reviewing this program for my own needs but would like to clarify that there is a method to get TV shows in 3000k quality level before I buy my own. It is not the money, I just don't want it to go to waste if I won't be able to use it.. Can you clarify you can grab this at 3k please?

When using the desktop Hulu version did you set the quality to "HD" or did you leave it on "Auto"? I tried using the desktop version with that Mr. Bean link but I can only get 1500K and no 3100K at all :( . Thanks.

Yeah, I wish it was possible to get higher qualities with the Web Hulu.com instead of the desktop version. The desktop version comes up with an error after about 10 or so mins.

I'm sure there IS some way to get higher streams with the stock Hulu web because you can get them on tablets so I know it has to be possible on a PC.

That's one of the main issues I have with GetFLV .. I have never been able to download a full movie from Hulu .. it ALWAYS gets "stuck" around the 70-80% mark and I don't know why :( I've tried countless times with different movies and all of them stop (never download to 100%). TV Shows on the other hand work perfectly fine tho.

One thing to remember is after you install a new version sometimes it helps to reboot. Something to do with setting the PATH. I don't know but, it seems to work out for me.

I'm having an issue with the latest build with Hulu (desktop) subtitles, where it only downloads the subtitles associated with the first episode downloaded. Any subsequently downloaded subtitles, whether in the same tab or new tab, same series or different series, they are the subtitles from the initial episode.

Hulu download stalls around 400 Mb into download. Same as prior versions. I am selecting the edgecast download. If I stop and restart the download, sometimes it completes, but for the larger downloads (1,000 Mb or larger), it never completes.

This has been asked previously numerous times, including by me, but there is never a reply. Adownloader can see the higher bitrate streams, including subtitles, when using a Plus account, but cannot download them. That program is what I personally use for WWE Network as it's pretty reliable.

That's one of the main issues I have with GetFLV .. I have never been able to download a full movie from Hulu .. it ALWAYS gets "stuck" around the 70-80% mark and I don't know why :( I've tried countless times with different movies and all of them stop (never download to 100%). TV Shows on the other hand work perfectly fine tho.

This is another issue I've asked about and again, no reply. While I'm not happy that it can't seem to reliably download them properly, it's good to know I'm not the only one this is happening to.

That is why we need to perfect the UVD method. I was able to download hulu streams @ 3100K on an ipad first gen IOS 5.1.1 and move the files over to a windows pc. The multiple .ts files are not encrypted and I was able to use the .m3u8 file in ffmpeg to make a single .ts file but, the problem was there were ads present and the video speeds up and slows down plus the audio is out of sync but, it was in fact a full quality rip. This method just needs to be perfected. The fact that I got as far as I did is proof that the IOS method has potential but, I seem to get no replies on this so, I'll ask once again if anyone knows how to make a working file of this then please help. We are already so close. I tested on a movie as well and it reaches completion but, is plagued with the same issues. I am going to try and delete all advertising in the rip before running ffmpeg again. I am hoping this might solve the problem.

I never did get past the removing ads and sync issues. The IOS method has been a total failure for ME. Obviously you have it all figured out since your output of the rip is full HD. Congratulations. I would imagine that you are not limited with movies anymore then since UVD gets all the data where GetFLV stalls on movies. There is not much more I can do and I'm not going to beg you for instructions. I thought this place was about stream recording techniques not being shown that it can be done and then being told that maybe I'll help you someday. Really. What is the satisfaction in all that? It would have been better if you never said anything at all.

You're right stinkfoot. I let my frustration with trying to solve this puzzle get the better of me and I gave an unwanted attitude as a result so, I apologize to WHOOKIDSON for the attitude. Versions: 9813918 & 9813618 no longer capturing hulu.com movies streams as of today. They only see the ads.

They were working. I guess hulu changed something.

I uninstalled GETFLV and reinstall 9.8.166.18. Same results. Only ad streams are captured. What broke?

This is happening with all the Hulu movies I've tried.
However, the TV shows (at least the Daily Show) downloaded okay.

UPDATE 8/14/2015: ONLY the Daily Show stream captured okay . Maybe because it's an older stream.
Other TV show streams are not captured - just like the movie streams.

My current workaround for this is to use Hulu Desktop and download the shows that way.

That being said, I'm still having an issue, as mentioned by someone else previously, with downloading subtitles using Hulu Desktop. Once I login, I go to my preferences and turn on subtitles. GetFLV will download the subtitles for only the first show, then it saves the same subtitles for all additional shows I download. This resets itself after reloading the Desktop, usually after it errors out.

However, it looks like this workaround has a limited lifespan when Hulu takes away the desktop or it becomes too buggy.

As for people having problems with downloading from Hulu / Hulu+... while GetFLV isn't the most stable program, crashing or freezing more often than not, it's STILL the only program I know of that can download from Hulu successfully, albeit it painstakingly. There are plenty of other people who are still using it. Part of the problem is that it requires a good deal of patience. It also requires constant upgrading - whether actually necessary or not - every time Flash updates on your system. Definitely sucks, but again, if someone knows of another program that can download and decrypt Hulu streams, including subtitles, please let us all know.

I do feel for those who aren't technically inclined, as this program will definitely scare you away due to how frustrating it is to use. In addition, there are still plenty of issues with it such as the inability to download a full HD movie without having to use a number of tricks to do so (and even then there's no guarantee), the subtitles issue I've mentioned when using the Desktop, not displaying ALL available streams on a consistent basis (not just with Hulu either), and of course the freezing and constant need to upgrade every few days in order for it to keep working properly, to name the ones off the top of my head.

Which I why I've suggested previously for GetFLV to sniff out ALL the streams WITHOUT needing to use the Desktop. I know it can be done, as the program ADownloader can see them without using the Desktop (it does require using a Hulu+ login though), but cannot download the stream. It just sits there restarting over and over.

EDIT: Nope, still will only show links for the ads, and the video playback window still goes blank when the main video is expected to start.

2nd Update: I did get a couple of 650K streams to show up in the list for an episode of The Whispers, but only once. I can't reproduce it for any other episode.

Final analysis: It appears to be working intermittently on ABC shows like The Whispers, but on shows that require a provider login (like Mr. Robot, Defiance, White Collar), it still doesn't work.

Can anyone else try these shows and verify?

I got the latest version to work on Whispers, Degrassi, and Seinfeld. I see and can record streams of 400K, 650K, 1000K, 1400K, 1900K, 2400K, and 3100K!

I should add that the video doesn't play in the window, but the streams do show up to be downloaded.

But shows that need a provider login (White Collar, Defiance, Mr. Robot) still do not work at all. Only the ad stream link shows up.

I find stuff like this comical -- how do you expect them to figure out what protocol the site uses for GetFLV to download it? I understand the reluctance to give out credentials, but you do realize each site uses different methods to encrypt their streams right?

I find stuff like this comical -- how do you expect them to figure out what protocol the site uses for GetFLV to download it? I understand the reluctance to give out credentials, but you do realize each site uses different methods to encrypt their streams right?

if they would respond to PMs then maybe i would. But MANY of times have i and others PMd them and not even a response is givin. thats the last thing i want to happen. Me give them credentials but not hear anything back from them saying yes or no about the streams. Im just putting the info about the lack of gamepass support.out there.

Hey dare, I downloaded OK today. It's Hulu plus (I download Once Upon a Time and Mr Robot) and has a lot of ver: 640, 1000, 1900, 2400, 3100.

Oh my goodness, I think I just figured something out. The links are there, just invisible. Load a show, wait about 10 seconds, and then double-click one of the blank lines in the list. It should pop up asking where to save it. So there is no way to know which quality stream you are choosing, but they are there.

Or maybe this was just a one-time fluke.

After logging into my Hulu account and clicking on a show that has an HD version available, I was able to see all of the streams WITHOUT needing to use Hulu Desktop... so hooray for this! Previously it would only offer links up to 1500K, but now it sees the ones above it up to 3100K. It's a very welcome fix to GetFLV since I know we are all worried about the day Hulu Desktop stops being available.

CBS has several links in flv, but only get 950x540 in GetFLV

NBC also post flv links in many qualities, and .ts files in the same qualities, but processing the ts files takes a lot of time.

So I am once again considering a purchase of getflv here. I have two questions for anyone who has the right data to answer them:

1) Has anyone successfully been using getflv to download 4500k streams from the WWE Network lately? Before it would grab them but not finish.

2) Anyone who has sought a refund within 30 days, as I believe that is what the policy states, have you had any trouble obtaining the refund from the getflv people.

Alright, so I just bought in and bought 2 licenses, so I can use it in two locations.

I have only registered one at the moment. However, I got two emails but both were the same serial number.....will it still work for two locations?? I would like to be able to verify I am getting what I paid for, guess I expected it would make more sense to have 2 serial numbers for two licenses.

Yes, just download the free trial and install it. It will install correctly over your old version. You don't need to uninstall the old version.

On ANOTHER note, it is really irritating to see the "getflv" support guy log in here several times a day and choose not to reply to anyone. That is what took me so long to buy this in the first place. I have two licenses now and would appreciate posts not just being ignored.

The site which I need to download from is a online course, needs to enter login and password.

These modes doesn't load the pages correctly: IE Kernel (doesn't load the videos), Safari Kernel iPad (tells me 'html5: Unsupported video format. Try installing Adobe Flash) and Android (can't login). Only Chrome does it properly but now I'm getting the message that the program can't support HDStream at the moment, telling me to use iPad Mode.

just check for m3u8 extensions to find all quality links and to make it easy to find them use Adblock AddOn.Just check some other topics so biezom did post already many examples about that with pictures.
