Hey I'm running 9.0.6.3 (the latest version) and it keeps getting stuck while downloading from Crunchyroll. Any ideas? Specially when downloading larger files.

PM your order email. We will check it and help you.

(using 9.0.6.6) had trouble with the RTMP Record feature last night while trying to capture a live broadcast from Ustream.tv. browser warns that it is "recording" when trying to close the window, and a file is saved, but the filesize is always 0-1kb. just a suggestion for future GFLV releases.

I purchased GetFLV about a month ago, and like it very much. However, I am having a problem when the filesize exceeds 2048MB.

I have emailed support several times and have not received any response, so I thought I might get an answer on this forum.

After using the program for a while, I have observed that once the saved file size reaches 2048MB, the status displays a large negative number. In this condition, the file will continue to download and the program has no problem with the actual file exceeding 2048MB. If nothing interrupts the stream, the program will continue downloading until finished and the status indicates 100%.

This is where the problem occurs. Once the file has reached 100%, after only a few minutes the program will reset the saved file back to zero length. The only way to keep the file is to either quickly copy it before the program resets it to zero, or to abort the program using "end now" in Window's program manager.

I would like this resolved because most of the videos I wish to download are over 2048MB.

I have a 8 core 3Gig i7 CPU with 3Gig Memory.
Windows XP SP3, updated recently.
Internet Explorer 8
Flash Player updated to most recent 11.1.102.55
650GB free space on Hard Drive.

Having trouble finishing downloads from HBOgo. Download will hang anywhere from 10%-90%. I have never been able complete a single download with this software.

Steps taken so far:
1. Reinstall flash
2. Reinstall getflv
3. Idle computer during downloads

Details:
Windows 7 x64
Adobe Flash v11.1.102.55
Getflv v9.0.7.4

In my experience with HBOgo and MAXgo, it appears that their server is throttling based on bandwidth. If I try to download a single movie, GetFLV reports a bandwidth of over 1 Mb/s. At this rate the movie will fail to completely download. I discovered that if I download several movies at once from HBOgo, then the bandwidth for each movie is around 200-300Kb/s. With this lower rate, the movies usually finish downloading.
I just have the problem described in my previous post that if the downloaded filesize goes over 2048MB, then GetFLV screws up and resets the downloaded file back to 0 Bytes. I wish someone from GetFLV would address this issue. Please let me know if you have this same issue on your Windows 7 machine.

Yeah I have the same issue as well. I just tried to download a full length film and did exactly what you said it would.

If you download multiple things at once doesn't it bump the quality down? I would also try pausing each download until I have a few of them queued, but when I try to resume a download it ALWAYS fails.

Also, my average download speed is 2.6MB/s.

Did you mean that you are also seeing the 2048MB limit?

It looks like you have a faster connection than I do. I don't know of another way to throttle the download speed. Ideally you could connect at full speed, and then limit the speed so HBO's server doesn't cut you off. I suggested this to GetFLV support but have had no response in over 2 months.

For me, the quality issue seems to have more to do with HBO's server and how busy the internet is. Usually in the daytime, it always auto picks a low res picture, but late at night I can have four hi-res movies downloading, each 3-4 GB in length, I often have the same movie downloading multiple times so if one stops working there are still 2 or 3 other copies that might succeed. (unfortunately I have to babysit them when they are over 2048MB so I can save the finished file before GetFLV resets it to 0 Bytes).

I might try to implement QoS for rtmp to manually limit the available bandwidth it can use.

When baby sitting files over 2GB how much time do you have to react before getflv resets it to 0?

Scottie

You have maybe 1-3 minutes before the file resets.

On my system (XP) I can do a copy and paste of the file and that seems to hold off the file being reset until the copy is complete. I can also just force close the GetFLV program and it usually keeps the file from being reset.

Dear Scottie, Scottie:

Sorry for the "2048MB" problem.

We have been dealing with this issue for 2 months. However, we still can not fix it now.

What file system are you running now? NTFS or FAT32? FAT32 has the "2GB File Size Limit". So please convert your file system to NTFS and check your problem again.

If you are using NTFS file system, it must be a bug of GetFLV. We will try our best to fix it.

I have a windows XP professional system with NTSF formated drives.
Sprtnbit just verified that his Windows 7 machine also produces this error.
The problem isn't creating and writing the file, because getFLV can sucessfully write a 4 GByte file (It just erases it after the file download completes). It appears to be an internal problem with your program, where one of your variables has a 2048M limit. It is producing a calculation error when the size becomes greater than 2048MB.

Hi,

So I got GetFLV to download JV Player videos using Adobe Flash player but it only let me get 4 minutes of the download before asking I purchase pro.

Have I hit the limit?

Scottie
01-05-2012, 04:25 AM
Hey!
I think version 9.0.7.6 fixed the 2048MB problem!

So far I have been able to download 4 files >2048MB successfully, with the largest being 3.7GB. All the status info seems to be staying correct now until the file reaches 100%.

I did have a 5th file that completed, but only about 80% of the movie was actually there. When I re-downloaded the same movie, it completed correctly at 100%.

Thanks for fixing this bug.

The only other thing I would wish for, would be for a way to limit the download speed. It appears the HBOgo will cut off downloads if the speed is too high. It's like the server knows the speed is way to fast for someone to just be viewing the movie. ~1Mbit/s rate will usually always fail, where <300Kbit/s usually always works.

Hi

I have just installed GetFLV Pro as it was the only program that would download a Flash movie I wanted from Youtube. I was very impressed with the trial run although it only downloaded 10MB so I paid up and got the registered version but I have now run into the same problem mentioned by the last few posters.

My system is windows 7 and IE 8 with the latest flash player. Download speed is around 110kbs.

GetFLV easily detects the video stream and begins downloading. It then stops. Out of four tries I ended up with 14%, 21%, 30%, 11%.
The quality of the video saved is excellent but how do I get the whole video to download?

Hi there, I have GetFLV (v9.0.7.6) pro and I keep trying to DL from crunchyroll but it keeps getting stuck in the middle of DL and I have to restart the download which doesn't resume instead starts from 0 and downloads again. can you at least make it resume instead of downloading from 0?

My problem started 2 days ago. Before that it was fine. Now I can't download any video that's longer than an hour. Less than an hour, fine. But a film that's 90 minutes, the download freezes at around 70% every time. I tried a programme that was 1 hr 20 and it froze at around 78%. And it doesn't matter about the size of the file, even if I choose a lower bitrate version of it, it still freezes around the same percent. It's not the website either, as I have tried to download from several and it happens with all of them. I have tried downloading one video at a time, several at a time, high speed, low speed, I've defragged my pc, I've downloaded the latest version of getflv 9.0.7.7. and of flash, nothing makes a difference.

I am using XP and had not made any changes to anything before the problem started. I emailed getflv but they haven't replied.

Can anyone help me please?

First, I am a paid customer, Golden version :-) and I want to thank you for one of the most useful programs that I have - one that I have tried and actually works for Crunchyroll.com. (I like anime.)

When I bought the program on 3th of July of last year, soft subtitles were not included with the download files. And a few versions later, my prayers came true - the SRT file was created by Getflv program.

If I may suggest that all the special effect in the SRT file can be omitted of formattings (no centering, no italic, no bold, or different coordinate) as I just want them to display at the bottom of the screen when I play them on my computer because I hate to see it jumping all over the place. If there were an option for that, it would be very welcome.

And I noted that some clips end up without the SRT file—and the subtitles themselves are embedded into the FLV file. (I'm not referring to hard subtitles, but the soft subtitles). How does the program know which clip to do that?

If there were a way to have them embedded into the FLV file directly, I wouldn't mind the formats above. But as suggested, if it's a separate file, can there be an option of saving no formatting at all?

And another option of just embedding all the soft subtitles into the FLV files themselves (like some of the FLV files are now saved), I can truly live with it.

And some people have suggested about getting rid of the "skin" settings. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with Intel i7 960 with 24 G of RAM and GeForce GTX 480 in (gasp!) the ugly Windows classic. I just don't like the flashy new interface.

And are you considering coming out with the 64 bit version (if it's not too much trouble).

Thank you again for a great program, and for very frequent updates.

I realize how hard everyone must be working on it on a daily basis and I thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Pooky, a happy customer

Hi All,

I also seem to have a problem with downloading anything over an hour, both from hulu.com and from crackle.com. The file usually stops downloading around 60-70% complete (about 45-50 minutes into the video). If I stop and restart it the file will sometimes continue and sometimes not, if it does continue it may stop again before the end. I'll keep trying to restart it, but usually it doesn't work well. It took 6 tries to finally get a 2 hour movie off of hulu.

Also, on crackle.com the system doesn't try and reload the page itself, you have to do it yourself. After successfully downloading one video from crackle, I've tried two others numerous times but they never finish.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to start recording in the middle? :) I figure if it only does half at a time I can download the front and back halves separately and then stitch them together :D !

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise and am using Get FLV 9.077.

Get FLV works great for anything under an hour, it's just those longer videos that are a hassle.

Thanks!

lausha

Update - managed to get the longer videos to go further by stopping and resuming the recording, however whenever they get to 99.9% done I get the following error message every time:

Your resume download need to reconnect video website to obtain authentication information. Do you want to continue?

Whether I click yes or no it stops.

Is there anyone who can help? Or anyone got any idea how I can get in touch with the getflv team? I've emailed twice, tried different addresses but nobody gets back to me. Thanks

the help comes and goes here. you may have to give it some time.

personally, i would suggest when it gets to 99.9%, stop the download (the file should still be saved in the download location), fix it with the FLV Fixer, and check the end of the video with your media player to see if you missed anything. a few black frames off the end of a movie cant be THAT irritating, can it?

lausha
01-18-2012, 03:37 AM
Thanks, that's very helpful. I was presuming that not getting to 100% meant that the video would not be "completed" or therefore playable. If it only means missing a fraction of the end of it then that's not a problem. Thanks for your kind help, much appreciated.

I am a recent buyer of the latest Get FLV software, and it is not going well. My problems are twofold:

1) When visiting a site (say ABC.com, it is constant no matter the site) I will get the list of possible rtmp streams to download at the bottom of the screen. When I choose one to download, it will briefly switch to the flv downloader screen, where nothing will happen for a bit and then the app will crash. Note RTMP Record Mode is unchecked.

2) If I have the RTMP Record Mode checked, it starts the download. It will always, without fail, fail to finish downloading. It just gets slower and slower until it dies. Then it will start over, rinse lather repeat.

I downloaded this and bought it 2 nights ago and have not had a single successful download of a movie.

I have sent a message to GetFLV support via their website and have yet to get a response.

back to lausha's problem, i am now having the same problem as well. it didnt occur to me that id never tried to download a stream longer than 44 minutes. downloading a 1h 33m movie is getting irritating after the third try. im going to HOPE that i can pause/resume the way lausha did to get it to 99.9%, but the first two tries made the filesize jump from 900mb to 2046mb (or something close to that number), and the download never proceeds from maybe the 800mb point. (yeah, about 87 percent like the others.)

EDIT: yup. it jumps from like 903mb to 2756mb, even after pausing and refreshing the page a few times to get the video back to the correct bitrate. the resumed download is claiming to download around 25-30 Mb/s. this continues to slow down gradually, while the download stays at the same 807mb (i think about 88% when paused, now 29% because of the new 'resumed' 2756mb filesize).

i suppose theoretically that refreshing the page ends the uh... i dont know the word that im thinking of... refreshes your 'script?' so that the REST of the video is now on a different URL? to me, (if i can word this correctly) it seems like were not able to download the video fast enough before whatever page were using refreshes the stream URL. while just viewing regularly, it may just quickly buffer to the new URL, or may not even be noticed. has anyone tried downloading their 1-2gb file on anything faster than DSL? it took me about 20 minutes to get my 807mb. maybe with a faster connection, the time to download would beat the time for the site to refresh.

anyway, there just needs to be some sort of pause/resume function in GetFLV that downloads from the original URL. we just keep restarting the download for some reason. or yeah, as someone suggested, find a way to download the first and whatever other portion separately then splice together. piece of cake.. if it were at all possible..

That jump occurs since GetFLV v9.0.6.3. Just install the older version GetFLV v9.0.6.2. I suppose a bug sneaked in since GetFLV v9.0.6.3, which either isn't quashed yet or even detected by the authors.

well, im going to stick with what i have for now. like i said earlier, i VERY RARELY download anything longer than 44 mins.

i was able to get the rest of my movie by letting the first file get to 88%, stopping it and pausing the video. using the 'resume' option on this site, i was able to get the rest in 3 small segments with the 'Record RTMP' feature in GFLV. (i ended up not getting the credits; the process became a hassle. the video is just for personal viewing so i could care less about getting a complete version.)

now its just converting to AVI to edit. so it IS possible, its just a HUGE inconvenience.

You could try to install both recent version and older v9.0.6.2 in parallel into different directories and use older version for downloading bigger files. As the resume function works there in v9.0.6.2 reliably, even when the connected stream server decides to stop sending stream data (on heavy load), you could resume as often as you want. This way you could achive a complete file, instead of fiddling with different FLV files and editing them as AVI.

I am running GFLV 9.0.7.9 under 64-bit Windows 7, and I am trying to download free Amazon instant videos. I have the problem reported earlier of the download starts and then stops after perhaps 20% of the file has downloaded. Clicking stop followed by start does not make the download continue. It acts as if my copy is not registered.

How do I find an earlier version that does not have this stopping problem. I have saved version 9.0.5.1, and perhaps that will work better. I presume I should completely uninstall my current version and do a fresh intall of the older version followed by a registration.

How do I get the 9.0.6.1 version? Is it archived somewhere?

Any suggestions or comments will be greatfully received.

a lot of these obscure foreign sites (obscure to us anyway) use completely different protection methods

however, they should only concentrate on the more well known ones (more well known in our countries anyway)

because believe me there are a lot of these weird sites out there that you haven't heard of before

As long as they make sure all of the 'main' ones work (you know, always check for security updates etc)

@chap

Company has obviously found out that their protection has been breached

You'll have to wait for GetFLV to release a new version

They reply on us to tell them when a site stops working. And we shouldn't even be posting publicly. Should be private messaging instead

Thankfully the forum isn't easy to find though (via some random search)

Seriously, when talking publicly, we should all pretend the programs don't work lol

Edit: Although most companies just don't give a toss, protection is like standard procedure. Like DVDs where they never changed it (just don't bother to change it)

Also many US citizens can't watch the episodes either, so NBC re direct them to Hulu

How crazy can this get

I am having all sorts of issues with GetFLV I have two accounts with them one on my laptop and one on my on my home pc. the home pc gets updated often but the laptop only gets updated once in a while as I am out of town if I feel like it. my home pc has the latest flash 11.2.202.235 and I have loaded the latest version of GetFLV (using the top download link on their website) but as stated in the above post the version at top and the version in the about are different version 9.0.9.5 at top and 9.0.9.3 in the about and the program says "This version of GetFLV can not work with latest flash player well. Please install latest GetFLV from our Website to check again!" So I downloaded the version using the bottom link on their website and I now get version 9.0.9.6 on the top and in the about but I still get the notice in the box stating "This version of GetFLV can not work with latest flash player well. Please install latest GetFLV from our Website to check again!".
I mentioned the two accounts because I have on my laptop flash version 11.1.102.55 and GetFLV version 9.0.7.9 and I have no problems with this I used it last night in the hotel and just doubled checked it now. I came home and cannot use the program on my home pc but can still use the outdated ones on my laptop. I also took a clean hard drive and loaded a fresh install of Windows7 updated flash loaded GetFLV and it will not work.

I too have just bought the latest GetFLV.. it looks like a great little program.. except that it doesn't work for what I need it for. :-(

I too sent a support message to the individual via the website, but have not yet received an answer.

Has anyone had any luck recording streams from Groove3.com?

Here's my problem:

I have an account there on Groove3.com, and whenever I login to my Groove3 account and try downloading a video file, it doesn't work. It does download an FLV file (even though I have set the settings to save as an mp4 file). However, the FLV file that it downloads is a very small file that contains no data.

If I DO NOT login to my Groove3 account, I am able to download the trial videos with GetFLV, and it does save them as an mp4 file with no problem. In fact, without logging in, I can download available videos in perfect h.264 quality. Unfortunately, there are just a small handful of videos available if you don't subscribe. The trouble begins when I log in to my account. Then suddenly I am not able to download any of the videos that I want.

Is there anyone that has had a similar problem that could help me out? Thank you very much!

I am having a different problem.

I paid for the full version today using paypal. I got a confirmation email from paypal but so far I have ZERO information about how or when I will be getting a serial number?!?! Has anyone else experienced this? It has already been a few hours and nothing.

I emailed all the support addresses at the website. Most troubling of all is that the sales email link bounced!! sales@superlogix.net

So... has anybody else succesfully bought through paypal, and if so how did you get the code, how long did it take etc?

Where did you buy it from? I bought mine at its official website getflv.net last year. The serial number they gave me came from the email address contact@getflv.net. Are you sure that superlogix.net site is legitimate?

There's no way to fix it since its a bug in the software. I can tell its a bug because I've been experiencing something similar (the recording of a stream stops even though the stream is still online).

any way of resuming downloads that appear to be frozen? i'm using latest version of getflv, registered yesterday and am trying to download 2 large (45 minute) about 500mb files from YouTube each time they get stuck about 149 mb into the download for some reason. I can't see a resume option. if I double click and click on start it seems to go haywire, the size of file disappears, and anyway nothing happens to restart the download. I have deleted and tried again on both and got stuck at nearly the same point. they are both Scottish TV videos RTMP and both about the same length. a couple of medium size one have also 'frozen' as well though it was fine with a 150mb download from Iplayer. is there a size limit or something?

Every version after 9.1.0.0 comes with a bug. When downloading streams without a fixed end, a live stream for example, the FLV Downloader part is bugged. Like always downloading a live stream never automaticly stops. That's correct and the way it always has been.

However, every new version seems to "expect" more data coming in although no data is sent from the server anymore. You can easily spot the differences looking at the "Remained" column. In version 9.1.0.0 for example the "Remained" time stops when GetFLV does no longer receives data from the server. In all the new version the time keeps counting on and on and on. Not only it's harder to check if a stream has ended it always produces buggy/bumpy/skippy files.

I mailed your support at least three times about it but nothing changed since 9.1.0.0 and the last version I tried (9.1.1.4).

So since I'm forced to use 9.1.0.0 I mailed your support again, with a "suggestion". Instead of fixing the bug I asked how to disable/override the Flash version check that GetFLV does. This way I could use an old version of GetFLV and still update Flash.

hello 9.1.2.6.

new Video Capture feature is great to have as a feature in the new version. this and RTMP Record are still being worked out obviously, but these things take time.

only really bad thing ive noticed in this new version is the FLV Audio Ripper doesnt seem to be working properly for me anymore. ive been using J.D. Purcell's FLV Extract and VLC for these conversions in the meantime.

happy new year everyone

As of this morning I'm having problems with GetFLV being able to download links from digitalplayground. When I select watch movie, instead of getting the flash player with the play button and timeline, all I see is a still jpeg. This is only happening on my laptop running XP, IE8 and the lastest adobe flash player. This just started this morning. It works fine on my home pc running Windows 7 with IE9, and even the trial version works on a different laptop running Vista with IE9. Any change recently? I'm running GetFLV version 9.1.2.8. Has XP and adobe flash finally reached EOL?

Hello,

Used Getflv to download some videos of different length from a rtmpe server. the video after downloading have issues playing in any other player but the getflv player. (win 7 x64 tried 2 computers)

if I open the file with VLC or MPC (newest versions) the video length shows as double of what it really supposed to be a 7min vid shows at 14min. the playback video plays at half speed and audio plays at chopped up pieces (not stretched or slowed down).

the converted file by getflv has exact same issue. does not matter what set of conversion I chose mp4 avi etc.

I used handbreak an other encoders to renecode the files and Ic an not change the issue
meanwhile I can open the original downloaded flv by getflv player with no issues.
I tried fixing the video with getflv but all it does is make it worst, the fixed videos show wrong length even in getflv (but still it plays it correctly) and it has no effect on other players and devices like ipad and android.

I don't understand how getflv player gets it right and why all other encoders and player go crazy trying to work with this.

here is the Mediainfo of one of the files after video fix with getflv

The short videos download fine, But one of the videos is almost 2 hours long and gets cut in the middle (the last lecture) it stops exactly after 241MB out of 444MB tried it 5 times , I left the player in the background with or without nothing changes.. what is cutting this video lecture?

I used RTMP recording that one I tried 3 times for the 2 hour video and it stops recording randomly at 98.4%, 68% or 37%
the RTMP recording is slow and if it hangs at 98% I have start over for 2 hours..
Is there anything you can do about it.
Thanks

------------

I was able to RTMP record the hour lecture finally, 4th time is a charm, but if this feature could be improved for longer video it would be great and save me couple of hours and whole lot of headache.

---

1 final question, in RTMP record my flv files are automatically coverted to MP4 with almost exact same size and same quality but I can not duplicate that result with the regular downloaded flvs. which settings are used automatically for converting flvs to mp4 in getflv?

It would be great to get support here for GetFLV as I have never had any response to emails sent to their support (support@media-office.com)!

I have been using the product for a while mostly downloading HD programs from iPlayer. As I live outside the UK, I use VPN (Private Tunnel).

This all worked fine until a couple of weeks ago when I got a message from iPlayer that I needed a new version of Flash player, which I duly downloaded and installed. The GetFLV said I needed a new version of GetFLV which I also downloaded and installed. I since downloaded a still newer version of GetFLV (9.5.8.9).

However, I still get the same message about iPlayer requiring me to download the latest Flash player.

iPlayer works fine when accessed through the BBC's website and I have also been able to use Applian Replay Media Capture (although it refuses to download HD!).

Any suggestions?

It used to work a few months ago - but now I get a message saying that the video cannot be streamed - and that I most likely needed to update my flashplayer. However, that flashplayer is up-to-date.

I have tried just using Internet Explorer (ie not GetFLV) and I could stream the video without problem. Therefore, the issue must be with GetFLV... any ideas ?

Many thanks in advance....

It's been a week now and I have not heard *anything* back - neither via email nor here. I saw a new version 9.5.9.3 which I installed and tried - but got the same result (ie I need a new flash player, which I updated to no avail).
Please, will you at least respond ?
If I do not get a response back here by Tuesday, 17th December, I shall invoke the 30 day money-back guarantee.

Thank you.

I did try 9.5.9.6. on the 17th - I even installed it on a Windows XP virtual machine so that I could try it with an older Internet Explorer version - same result - I get a message box advising me to update the flash player, which, even if I do it although it is already up-to-date, did not change anything in GetFLV.
Using only Internet Explorer (ie NOT GetFLV) , I was able to stream video and see it, using GetFLV, I only get the error message.

So, whatever your results, it does not work for me and so I have contacted the Credit Card company to start a dispute on the charge as long as I am still within the 30 day money back guarantee period. (I had bought the software on the 30th of November).

I am uninstalling the software from both Virtual machines (Win7 where I registered it and Win XP, where I use the trial).

As I had contacted you via my hotmail address, you should be able to revoke the license you sent me on the 30th, so that both you and me should end up as we were prior to the purchase.

Thank you and regards.

For whatever it is worth, I currently have no issues* with getflv and amazon instant.

I dedicate a separate (non-VM) OS installation just for getflv. This is because getflv has lots of junk code and does obnoxious stuff in the name of anti-crack prevention. I wouldn't run all that crap on my regular OS installation.

Anyway, the getflv version that is working is 9.1xx and the flash version is old too, like 10.2xx. This is on win7 & ie10. I'm guessing the newest versions of getflv & flash should work too.

That message from Amazon Instant about the flash version is sort of a lie. It means the player is having trouble installing Amazon's custom flash plugin. Sometimes this plugin is used to enable abobe's flash access (which you don't want) so Amazon can send encrypted files. But they seem to do this only sometimes.

*When I say "no issues", I'm discarding some occasional trouble getting a transfer to start, and some stalled transfers. These happen maybe 10% of the time.

Also they are uploading TV shows everyday which are geo-blocked and can only be seen in India or Pakistan. I am facing same issue in that too since last week.

My version: 9.5.9.1
My system: Win 8 Prof 64bit

Video recording works nice with all tested pages. Audio works in downloading mode. NOT in Capture mode. The reason seems to be the selected audio device for recording. Windows standard device seems to be chosen. This in normally mic. So no sound.

Bypass: Enable StereoMix in Windows audio properties and set it to standard. Then restart GetFLV. --> works. But: sound level is pretty low. Even if you set the sound level in the properties of stereomix to 100% (what i recommend!). Furthermore video and audiostream aren't sychron :( so i have to adjust it with 3rd party software.

Requests to developers:
Please allow more options and don't fear a "silly" user! The given settings page is a stub. I would like to have the opportunity to chose a record device inside your application (additional feature: amplify recorded sound). There should be another settings tab to configure the default video and audio encoding settings. (Very) Additional feature here: configure a 3rd party encoder on your own by declaring a path and parameters (eg ffmpeg or x264).
Some of your options are a little spread over yout GUI (eg. Enable Selected Task Sound). It's nice, that you putted them at the place where you need them. But maybe your software would be easier to set up when the user is also able to configure everything from one place, which shouild be your settings page.
You have to work out the sound problem! I don't understand why it is not working now, because it plays the sound while recording, but it doesn't save it without the bypass described at the top. But the bypass has two weakspots:
1) offest between audio and video (depends on the machine i guess)
2) records every system sound, like email notification and other stuff
--> a direct recording method wouldn't have this weakspots and would offer the possibility of muting the sound while recording it over the mixer in windows. So the user would be able to listen to music or do whatever he wants while recording a video with sound!

keep on working! Your software has the potential of beeing the best recording software ;-) But it's pretty expesive (for something that can be done with freeware as well by now...)

Hello guys. Does anyone know if the latest version of GetFLV is able to record streams such as private sessions on a adult site like LiveJasmin ? From what I have read on related topics including the of them ( GetFLV & LiveJasmin ) it cannot, but then again the info I got was from quite some old, outdated threads...

Please send me a PM if you have an answer to this question, thanks.

Hello, I recently purchased the newest version of GetFLV and for some reason it doesn't want to download the whole file. It seems as if the smaller the file is the more of it it downloads. The files always stop at 99% for some reason. Then when i go to play them only about half the file maybe a little more is there. Is there something wrong with GetFLV? I have tried this on multiple files as well. Please help get this fixed. Thank You

I've been dealing with this too for the last few weeks getting M3U8 streams and the problem seems the segments are being downloaded even after the decryption key or session expires, which explains GetFLV indicating "99%" completed but results in an incomplete file as only the decrypted segments can be merged.

I’m hoping someone can help me.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Have installed Flash 12.0.0.77
Have installed GetFLV 9.6.2.9

Since around the first of the year, have been unable to capture any viable stream from CBS.com (using IE Kernel or Chrome Kernel – Safari Kernel and Android Kernel are not an option as CBS.com doesn’t allow full episodes to be selected)

I get 2 or 3 F4M Streams. After being prompted for the stream (374K/508K/819K/1322K/1963K) for one of them, no matter what stream I chose, the FLV Downloader screen shows a 252KB file for a one-hour episode (when I normally see something around 220Mb for a one-hour episode). Every download Stalls at 99%.

Other F4M streams, when selected to download produces the error F4M “File Parse Failed! Please try again”.

I have now been missing capturing CBS shows because they are "rolling off" without me being able to capture them before they disappear from the site.

I had originally sent an email to 'support@getflv.net' at the end of January, and again at the beginning of this month - I haven't received any replies to the emails. Is this forum preferred over the emails?

Let me know if you need any additional info

AVGO does appear to work for CBS.com... for now, though it saves the stream as an MP4 instead of FLV. Good quality capture.

I am trying to download videos from WWE's network. I have some success but more frustrations than success using GETFLV.

I am at the latest release 9.6.3.1 (purchased/registered)

GetFLV is no longer detecting any video streams in Chrome Mode.

In IE mode, it is finding the m3u8 streams (3000k which is what I want), and it allows me, sometimes to download them.

Here are my main issues

1) When I start the program, and type in a link (ex network.wwe.com) and hit the arrow to go to that page (in ie mode), sometimes the blue dialog box comes up mentioning ipad mode. Most of the time the blue box flashes and goes away. I cannot do anything with the program until I kill it in task manager. I keep trying until the blue box (ipad mode message) comes up. When it does, I click the video I want to download.

2) When I get to click on the video I want to download. Again sometimes it prompts me with the name and location to save the file, but most of the time, that box flashes (like the blue box in #1) and disappears. Again, I can do nothing with GetFLV until I kill it in Task manager. I then retry until I actually can click ok to save the file. Then it starts downloading.

3) When the program starts downloading, most of the time, GetFLV freezes (not always at the same percentage of download, and this happens on any file). I look in task manager and it says GetFLV is not responding. I have waited, and it never responds (I have even left it overnight). I then have to kill GetFLV in task manager, again, and start the process all over.

I am willing to get you whatever information you need to help fix these 3 issues.

I like the program, when it works, it is just frustrating that I spend hours to successfully download a 2 hr show (because of the constant restarting because of the mentioned issues)

Thanks in advance

bobm67

Also, another issue

4) When a 2 hr and 45 min download does work, it stops at 99% every time and doesn't do anything. The video is unplayable.

Please help....

By the way I tried with the last three versions of this product and no go, my VPN works because the video plays back in the GETFLV Chrome browser which was the setup originally when things were working, I think Hulu JP changed something on their end. Is there any way you could fix in an update?

GetFLV no longer works on nbc.com. (Version 9.6.3.8) The program gets fooled into thinking it has recorded the whole video but it has actually only got part of it.

Also some of the longer videos on Hulu free, GetFLV will record about 2/3's of it and then hangs.

I purchased GetFLV yesterday and I haven't been able to download anything but small videos from Hulu. If the video is a full length movie it will never finish the download. The download will never complete more than 700k in size before it stops.
I am beginning to believe the program is still in Alpha stage and we are paying for the privilege of Alpha testing it.

So far it has not been worth the money I paid for it and I need to request a refund. I will use Replay Video Capture instead.

Anyone tell me what the best way to request the refund is??

Also when you register the product the receipt comes back from "Media Office" with a product support email of: support@superlogix.net

So why is the support email different here than on the website?

Also, how about Soompi (http://tv.soompi.com/en/home it was called kdrama.com until a few weeks ago). Can subtitle be downloaded from this website, as well?

Many thanks. I do love the program. :)

I have been trying to download a video from Hulu with the latest version, and it is working until it reaches an advertisement at 1 hour 3min, and then the download totally stalls.

I've tried many times any it always stalls out in the same spot, where the ad starts, and won't ever resume.

Any help with this? Thanks

Well, I managed to finally download the entire video. I reloaded the video page and then skipped to the point where the ad was and let it play past. Don't know if that helped it, or if I just got lucky many tries later

GETFLV version 9.7.1.1 no longer captures entire hulu full length movies > 1hr.
Capture stalls and eventually stops and recovery no longer works to continue downloading.

Possibly hulu site has changed encryption. I notice the huluedgecast is no longer one of the capture streams from hulu and the fplive streams can rarely be entirely captured for movies.

If anyone has other experience with this, please share. Maybe it's operator error.

The last couple of versions have crashed when the cursor is moved to another program. I have a dual monitor setup. The 2nd program can be on the 2nd monitor, or the same monitor. ALT TAB to go to another program also crashes the program. Also tried positioning both windows to fit in one monitor - same result. The program will ** not ** crash unless it is actively on line (i.e. not on the main page).

Happens with Crunchyroll and Youtube.

Thank you for looking into this. I really am thankful as it can download (all languages) of the subtitles from Crunchyroll now but find that I can't run anything else concurrently or will crash as explained above.

Sorry to have omitted that information.

Am running Windows 8.1 64 bit with latest patches.

Intel i7 960. 20 G of RAM. GTX 780. Let me see what programs I have running in the background. Symantec Endpoint Protection. Malwarebytes. (Both latest). AnyDVD HD (latest). CCleaner ("monitoring is active") and running Dragon Medical 2 (Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.51). Dual monitor.

Tried compatibility mode (to 7, and XP), still happened. However, I just downloaded version 9.719. It doesn't seem to be happening with this one. Clicked on another program and went back to GetFLV, still running. So far so good.

Will report later tonight if I notice anything else. Thank you for looking into this.

Versions related to this problem: 9.7.1.1, 9.7.2.3

GETFLV still stalls on long Hulu movies, about 1hr +. The stall is anywhere from 60% to 80% complete. That's not the main problem. The main problem is a resume of the download could be accomplished by stopping and starting the download, and now that never works.

Related versions: 9.7.1.1, 9.7.2.3

I redownloaded, verified it had a different MD5 hash, and reinstalled 9.7.2.3 as recommended.

Same problem manifested. I tried 2 different Hulu movies. One stalled at 78.1% and the other at 62.4%. I stopped and restarted both. Both seemed to scan the written content to determine the continuation point and then errored out. However, the second movie restarted the download on its own after about 5 minutes of no activity (I almost gave up without enough waiting). So something's behaving differently - in a good way. The second movie eventually downloaded completely. I haven't had luck with restarts in for several revs back of GETFLV. It's looking good. I'm going to try the first movie download again, in case of operator error.

Aside from this problem, I think your responsiveness in creating revisions to solve GETFLV problems is impressive. Thanks.

Interesting. I tried downloading the first Hulu movie that failed and a third. Both stalled, I forced a restart by stop and starting them.

Both gave error results and don't seem to be recovering.
After a long wait, the 2nd (last one) seems to be recovering.
The 1st never recovers.

RE: 9.7.2.3

Okay, I tried to download 2 hulu movies. The first movie stalls and can never recover via stopping and starting. The second movie stalls and appears to attempt recovery but eventually just hangs. I have gotten some movie downloads to work, but it's not a reliable download or recovery process.

Needless to say, recovery for Hulu movie downloads is not solid.

The attached pic shows both movies. Their downloads have stalled. Recovery was attempted on both. The download recovery attempt for the 1st movie has errored and will never recover.
The recovery attempt for the 2nd movie shows the movie is still attempting download, but it has hung in this state for about 10 minutes now. So I don't give it much hope of recovery.

FYI

For the Hulu download problem with movies longer than about 1 hour and unstable recovery capability.

I tried to download 2 other Hulu movies with IE and Chrome engines. Downloads stalled at about 80% and recovery never worked. I waited for about 30 minutes for recovery. It seems to be an area that needs improving. Hopefully, you can resolve this and make Hulu movie downloads more solid.

GETFLV 9.7.2.7
Windows 7

Strange Hulu download recovery procedure.

I don't know if these later versions changed the procedure to recover a download but here's what I am consistently encountering for Hulu movie downloads.

+ At the FLV browser I access the Hulu movie with the Chrome Kernel. The IE Kernel no longer plays Hulu movies for me - at all.
+ As the movie plays, I select the 720x720 stream for download.
+ The download begins and usually stalls anywhere from 60% to 85% into the movie.
+ Here's the strange change in recovery. I have to wait for the exclamation error to display on the FLV Downloader. If the ! error never displays, I stop and start the download and the ! error displays after a couple of minutes.
+ Then I go back to the FLV Browser and reload the movie.
+ The download resumes where it had stalled.
+ So far, this procedure is working everytime.
+ If I try more than 2 downloads at a time, GETFLV often crashes or locks up.

Is this the proper procedure to recover downloads from Hulu?

@ Manual

Just use youtube-dl CMD tool so with this you can download all formats also 1080p till 4K.So from FullHD and higher you download video & audio stream separated and after this the tool will merge them together with ffmpeg (just put youtube-dl in same folder so it works automatically).Simple to use and you get what you want also very quick.

So the author of GetFLV could bundle the tools, implement & control tools into his own tool (as boxed files for exsample) so that GetFLV can also download and merge all formats. :) I also don't like these brainless youtube restrictions. They want to get all but don't want to give back. :) I don't understand why they not just put a simple download button on the page to make the own site more user friendly but instead they choose a other direction what is not traceable in my eyes.

Registration issues... I purchased a GFLV license in Dec 2012 with the then-current version 9.1.2.7. Worked like a charm. Now I'm trying to reinstall after reimaging my machine and it won't let me register. I type in my license info and click 'Register' and it just comes back to the same screen over and over. I tried downloading the newest version - 9.7.6.9 - and it does the same thing. Any idea what the problem might be? Is the registration server down (been going on for 2 weeks now)? I'm hoping my license isn't expired - I thought it was supposed to be good indefinitely - at least longer than 2 years. Thanks for any help you may be able to share!

GETFLV 9.7.7.3 has automatically resumed downloading a Hulu movie after stalling. It took a long time. I went away from the computer and did not clock how long, but from the browser screen, it looks like several download attempts were automatically restarted for the stalled movie.

that this was the only one that worked
and how wonderful it is

two full episodes and one clip...
i was so happy with what i saw...
it even skipped the ads...

the next day i wanted to see some more
but it wouldn't do anything...

i tried ipad mode like i did before
but i couldn't log in to hulu
there was no button...
they said it's because i don't have
cookies or javascript enabled...
how can i do that?
it worked the day before
and i didn't have to do anything...

so i tried ie and chrome...
i could log in and it seemed to be working
but it would only download 6mb
the size of the preview
but not the full episode
even though i was watching
the full thing at the time...

it did download 22% of one
but that was a few days ago...

for some it asks if i would like
to use record mode... i say ok
it records... but only 0.1%
for every single one
and i tried it many times...

i also tried uninstalling
reinstalling redownloading
installing to another folder
and it's still the same...

uninstalling hardly uninstalls anything
everything except the program itself
is still there...
even after deleting the folder
and reinstalling to a new one
the settings are still there
somewhere...

a fresh install would be nice...

does anyone know what to do about this
and can anyone from getflv
help me with this?

edit:
i see the sales@media-office.com
link on the contact page does not exist...
the sales@superlogix.net link is dead too

It works for me with hulu, but it takes some special procedure to download a whole movie.

That's wonderful that it works for you. Mind sharing with the rest of the class? Because there seems to be very few success stories with HuLu and especially HuLu Plus.

Usually when I'm downloading Hulu movies that are longer than 1 hour, the download stalls.
1 Once I verify that the download is not moving at all, on the download screen, I stop the download and then restart it manually. The disk churns as the download tries to recover from the last good download point. Usually, the recovery attempt fails and a flag is shown to the left of the download.
2 Then I go back to the browser window and reload the movie URL. That usually causes the download to restart after a couple of minutes of positioning to the last good download point. After this the download usually completes.
This procedure works pretty solidly for me for Hulu downloads. I don't know if it works for other sites.

In my settings. I have disabled Auto Convert and Auto Preview and enabled Auto Switch.

Due to the Auto Switch setting, after I reload the URL in step 2, the download screen usually displays as the download continues.
Viewing the Download screen, wait a bit and watch the Speed and Elapsed time start to change to verify that the download is positioning.
Eventually, when it continues to copy, the Percent and Completed will begin to increment again.

It used to be that Getflv would automatically recover from a stalled Hulu download, but I haven't seen it do that in many revisions.

Hope this helps

So I just bought 1 year GetFLV pro and I am still not able to download HBOGo episode. I tried iPad mode but then the site tells me I should use ipad or android app to access it.

I even used free livestreamer and was able to download the episode but I cannot play it. Any ideas?

GetFLV 9.82618 crashes when the cursor is outside (and mouse is clicked) when it is on full screen (on a dual monitor) in Chrome mode.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start program.
2. Switch to Chrome mode.
3. Go to youtube.com.
4. Download something.
5. Move the mouse outside (i.e. to another monitor), and click on an empty screen.
6. Program crashes

It does this also when the mouse is moved to another program that is running on the *same* screen (overlapping).

This bug existed a few versions ago. Otherwise if it's left on, the download completes without any problem (but the computer can't be used to do anything else.)

Thank you!

Since upgrading to version 9.8.35.18 I am getting the "This version of GetFLV can not work with latest flash" message coming up when GetFLV is started, but once you click ok, it works fine. I am using Win 8.1 PRO 64bit with all current updates installed.
For others, it is working fine for Hulu. (Do not have Hulu+)

I'm almost certain this type of request is not allowed -- Piracy isn't permitted on this forum and i'm sure a mod will delete this post.

I have Camtasia Studio and was able to record it (to a short video). The file got too big to be uploaded here even zipped, so it's at Youtube at this address.

https://youtu.be/WKVUrxGRxcE

In this case, I didn't even have to go to the 2nd monitor.

An older version had this bug before and it was fixed but I think it came back somehow.

Thank you!

GetFLV is one of the programs that gets updated very often, and these people need to be paid properly for it. What you are asking for is unfair. I bought my copy legally and I use it without guilt.
