Any thoughts on new AOL Music streaming recorder iGetMusic?

I represent a new stream recorder iGetMusic. It is able to rip full length songs without missing the beginning or end like RadioTracker or StreamRipper and also saves album covers. Has anybody compared this tool with RadioTracker etc.?

I have RadioTracker and screamer-radio. Both will do the job very good. The whole thing to delete song that is bad do to it not worth cutting. Find a station that is non DJ and have clean cut. Delete the song where they talk do to it will get repeated.

To get ablum cover media player will help you find the song if the names is right.

I have tried Iget software and can't get it to work.

I'm using RadioTracker, never heard of iGetMusic, but as far as I read it can record music just from AOL Radio and Yahoo Launchcast, unlike radiotracker which supports about 20000 radio stations and works very good, so I don't think I'll get iGetM so soon.

Music radio stations use Shoutcast/Icecast streams. There are many Shoutcast stream rippers that you can use to record music besides RadioTracker. RadioTracker is an interesting program, but not because it supports more radio stations than other radio recorders.

Screamer radio is good for aol and where Tracker will not play. I use URL Snooper to get the link for the station and plug it in to screamer. Then when it works I try in tracker. like Aol will not work in tracker but it will work in screamer.

Re: Any thoughts on new AOL Music streaming recorder iGetMusic?

The problem with RadioTracker and Screamer Radio it seems is that Shoutcast radio streams deliberately vary the time when the MP3 tags change in relation to where the songs actually change and thus you never get accurately cut songs. Either you get part of the next song or you are missing some part. The second problem is that all Shoutcast streams that I tested will cross fade between songs thus making it impossible to get perfect results. RadioTracker does have a built-in editor to cut songs manually. However, try editing 100 or 1000 songs and things quickly start to become tedious. I found that iGetMusic on the other hand will deliver perfectly cut songs with nothing whatsoever left to do. It will even pull the album covers for each song which is pleasing to the eye when playing back with Winamp. Yes, it only records AOL, Shoutcast and Play.it but these have 200 plus stations of all common formats and you can even build your own radio stations (with artists and music which you like). While I found that while some specialty stations are missing (I like Italian music for example which), iGetMusic seems to be the best choice for automatically expanding a music collection. I still will use RadioTracker though for some specialty stations but the convenience factor of iGetMusic is just impressive. Also, songs recorded with iGetMusic will only take up half the disk space than songs recorded by RadioTracker.

This is really weird. All Shoutcast stream rippers download streams, so the size could not be reduced unless the program uses some kind of re-compression. When you re-compress, you lose some quality. In most cases the quality of online radio stations is not very high already, so I don't think that the fact that "songs recorded with iGetMusic will only take up half the disk space than songs recorded by RadioTracker" is positive.
