I want to record/capture/save/download the video too. And I want to burn it to a DVD to send it to my father, who doen't have any Internet access. Any computer junkies know the technical way around this?

You can use screen video capture software to record from elfyouself. Streaming video rippers won't work here.

And to burn elfyourself video to DVD, you can record it from screen to MPEG-2 format and then burn the MPEG-2 video to DVD.

I Agree

I personally use WM Capture for recording ElfYourself videos, and it works GREAT! Check it out from the screen video capture software link!

Can I burn a DVD with screen video capture software? If not, how can I convert the recorded file to a DVD Video?

I don't really know whether any screen video capture software can burn DVD Video discs or not. But you can always capture video using MPEG-2 video codec. DVD Video disc have video that uses MPEG-2 codec, so lots of programs will be able to create a DVD Video disc from it.

And you can use freeware DVDFlick to burn MPEG-2, Windows Media, QuickTime, Flash videos to DVD.
