www.bloomberg.com: problem downloading RTMPT flash video stream from Bloomberg

Anyone know if bloomberg is possible to be captured in Replay Media Catcher? I purchased that program and like it a lot and it seems to snag the commercials for bloomberg no problem, but doesn't ever snag the live stream.

I have a similar issue with sirius, but for that I just go to 'audio recorder' and click start.... It would seem if they had a 'video recorder' option it would work that way since there is no start/end to the video stream (just like w/streaming sirius).

Any ideas on using replay media catcher would be appreciated... hmmm perhaps I will try to upgrade to to their full suite to see if that will solve the issue.

I don't have any problem download live RTMPT flash video streams from Bloomberg (tried the US and EU versions) using Replay Media Catcher 4.1.1:

Please post the URL of the web-page you have problem recording from.

siriusxm.com uses RTMPE encryption now. How can I record it?

Re: www.bloomberg.com: problem downloading RTMPT flash video stream from Bloomberg

I am going to _http://www.bloomberg.com/tv/
and just clicking play. The ad is detected and downloaded, then ... nothing - although the stream comes online and plays. The version (asmr) is 4.1.1.0 (downloaded yesterday). Initially I tried it as a demo and then added my registration code. I cleared ALL history/cache in firefox and restarted the program and browser.

I ran the command 'netstat -an' to track which ports were being used and seems to be using just the normal 1935.

Are you using a default installl or do you have any plugins/options checked? I played around with a few (e.g. checking the other options under RMTP Download Tweaks under downloading/recording), but no luck.

The only other odd thing is presently I'm on a hotel network (perhaps Hyatt is blocking something? Seems odd since other sites like CNBC are captured just fine) and using a 64 bit version (I have noticed some odd random issues w/other 64 bit software).

If there are any more clues that can be had I can do a video screen capture to show you my options and how I'm just opening my browser and navigating to the site while record is on.

I tried to play the stream again. RMC didn't detect the following streams at first.
rtmpt://cp87869.live.edgefcs.net:80/live/us_300@21006
rtmpt://cp87869.live.edgefcs.net:443/live/us_300@21006
rtmpt://cp87869.live.edgefcs.net:80/live/us_300@21006

But on another attempt it detected the following stream and started downloading it:
rtmpt://cp87869.live.edgefcs.net:1935/live/us_300@21006

Will send this to the developer and see whether he can replicate the issue or not.

Re: www.bloomberg.com: problem downloading RTMPT flash video stream from Bloomberg

Thanks for sending this over to the developer. After clicking on the links a few times I was able to get it to record as well. I think part of my problem might be because the internet here is so slow and choppy (part of the reason I was trying to capture it), but who knows.

After it recorded and I went to play it back the video froze and the timing at the bottom was all screwed up (could not fast forward or rewind), but the audio kept going so that worked for what I needed today (sort of).

Interested to hear their response,

Nate

There is a bug, but it should be fixed in the next release.

This is a regular thing when recording live RTMP streams. Just right click on the recording, select Fix FLV and then fix the duration. Then your FLV recording should play just fine.

Ah a bug, well thanks for following up with that. I was about to buy WM Recorder, but now I will just wait for the next release of Media Catcher.

Thanks again,

Nate

It seems like detecting RTMPT streams from Bloomberg is no longer in issue in Replay Media Catcher 4.1.6

Re: www.bloomberg.com: problem downloading RTMPT flash video stream from Bloomberg

It detects wonderfully now, their update fixed that.

However, now I'm having the issue of playback. Since the stream never stops I have to cancel it. After which it fixes itself. If I play this stream, it generally doesn't play more than 2 seconds before going screwy - sometimes the audio will continue to play, but never in sync with any video (the video is generally just stuck on a few random stills it appears). If I select fix FLV, the same problem persists (even temporarily locking the FLV player when attempting to play the fixed file). If I convert it to AVI, it is no better.

Are you able to successfully watch the downloaded stream after it has fixed itself? I know FLV is not going to be a perfect replay, but this is not even watchable at all. I notice while it's capturing the status changes to "sending resume" quite often and I'm wondering if this is screwing it up.

Any ideas? Thanks for all of your assistance.

Nate

Try to fix time
http://www.applian.com/faq-pro/index...03&id=86&lang=

There are many problems with playing recorded live FLV streams, but usually they are gone after fixing time.

Also what FLV player do you use? I had lots of problems with VLC player recently, but Applian FLV Player and KMPlayer usually play FLV files just fine.
