WMCapture: Set to record the speakers output signal through the microphone input

Hardware installation

Plug the Y-Block jack (black) into the headphones output then plug the 3.5mm jack (green) into the microphone input of your computer. Note that you can no longer hear the audio when inserting a jack into the headphones output. The Y-Block input can be used to connect your headphones or your external speakers. You can also connect an external microphone if you need to record your voice.

If your computer geometry does not allow proper insertion of the Y-Block or you want to expand the usability of the Stereo Mix Loopback use the configuration shown here.

Plug the 3.5 mm white male jack into the headphones output and plug the Y-Block onto one of the white cable inputs. Plug the green jack into the microphone input of your computer and plug an external speaker into the other white input jack.

You can also use the Y-Block input to plug an external microphone.

The picture shows a Coby CS-MP23 MP3 Portable Mini Stereo Speaker System.

Software setup
  1. Set the Stereo Mix Loopback as shown below

  2. Open WM Capture, click Settings and click Audio Setup/Test.
  3. Open the Audio Recording Sources drop down list and select an audio source
  4. Then open the Audio Input list and select a microphone input.
  5. Click OK to exit.

Alternately you can click TEST and run the recording test.

Now your computer and WM Capture should be set to record the speakers output signal through the microphone input. You may have to adjust the microphone and/or volume levels.
