Version history for streaming media recording softwarei have an idea. since software developers (coders) are on SRF anyway, i would suggest that they (or their fans ) use *this* thread to announce their new releases (updates, news). just a short note is enough, e.g. something like
~~~~~~~~~~~~~snip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An updated version of Jaksta Pro is out. Current version: 4.0.12.0 Changes since last version, see version history at: http://... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~snap~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ or similarly, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~snip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ we've posted an updated version of GetFLV on our website. please check it out. current version: 8.9.9.3 Hulu can be downloaded (again), and we added better support for Sony's Qriocity Music Unlimited website. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~snap~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This way, when SRF-boardies visit the board and the "Video stream recording" forum, they can instantly see when their favourite software tools were last updated (and how often). @SR, you might find this idea good? |
Re: Version history for streaming media recording softwareGreat idea! I think there should be a separate thread for each program.
Re: Version history for streaming media recording softwareuser "applian" has its own software updates threads now. so what about the other users:
getflv, hyc, crs (Craig), bob-flash [ST], Xi [NXF], streamingstar [HiD], ...? Are they all allowed (or invited or encouraged) to open up such threads as applian has? Please let us know clearly (or in detail), thanks. Last edited by placebo : 03-25-2011 at 02:05 PM. |
Re: Version history for streaming media recording softwareObviously bob-flash does post about updates:
http://stream-recorder.com/forum/str...ams-t5917.html Other developers are encouraged to do the same. p.s. I haven't managed to get any feedback from Streaming Star for a long long time. If you know how to encourage them or any other developer of streaming media recording software to post version history, please do it. |
Re: Version history for streaming media recording softwareI've created a thread for NetXFer and updated the rtmpdump thread. I have also notified the developer TuneBite and the user related to get-flash-videos.
Know any other developers of stream recording software whom you would like to see here? Please bring them on board! |
Re: Version history for streaming media recording softwareWow, great (everything)!
Thanks. [...] I know that the developing team of GetFLV [GFLV] releases new updated versions extremely frequently. Almost every week. I surely like to see that. Because websites develop as fast, at a fast pace. 10 years ago websites were all simple and primitive. Some HTML with *.GIF-pictures. Nowadays webpages are very complex, with Java-applets, Adobe Flash, Adobe AIR, etc. Popular websites such as Hulu.com do a lot to change/develop the protection of their streaming contents. That's why download tools must be updated as often. And quickly. I think that Applian Technologies does a terrific job at updating their software (it's a commercial company!), Xi [NXF], Streaming Star [HiD], and for sure [GFLV]. Unfortunately i cant see any version history for, e.g. GFLV. That's why i came up with the idea that such companies should at least keep us posted about the news *that* they've published an updated version. We'll see if they update their threads |
