How to take a recorded video (from DVR) and post on YouTube?

Last night I recorded a news program on Directv on my DVR. Now I'd like to post it on YouTube.

Please, could someone walk me through all the steps to take that file out of the DVR... into my laptop... and finally broadcast it on YouTube?

Thanks for your help!

Well, to start what type of DVR Do you have, and I'm assuming it's not in a pc, but just a box hooked up to your tv correct?

I would see if it has any usb ports, or ways of taking media OUT...but first, a make and model # might help...

It would be really nice to know what format your DVR uses while recording and whether you have already transferred your recording to your computer.

p.s. Also please make sure that it is legal to post your recording to video sharing services like YouTube
