Sony's Qriocity Music Unlimited ( QMU | qmusic.com ) review

How to download capture record stream streams streaming audio from Sony Sony's Unlimited Music Unlimited service Qriocity qriocity.com howto tutorial qmu instructions review

Sony's new music service Qriocity Music Unlimited, or short QMU, is located at:
http://qmusic.com
or music login at: http://music.qriocity.com
or account login at: https://account.qriocity.com/login.action

+ similar to the services offered by TPM, all you can do is stream music online thru your mobile device or thru your PC (and eventually save tracks offline on your mobile device but not on your PC)
+ you can sign up for a 30days FREE trial w/ credit card
+ you login via webinterface (http-login) and your browser's version should be compatible with the website (there is also a type of software called Music Sync but believe me it is fuck!)
+ the website is based on Adobe Flash and or Microsoft Silverlight technology who the f*ck cares
+ streaming track URL's are easily captured with any preferred URL sniffer
+ a streaming url has the following format:
Code:
rtmpe://omnifoneflashfs.fplive.net/omnifoneconprod/content/***/mp4:***?z=1234&customerclient=***&token=***&signature=***&traceid=***
so a typical full-length url of a stream looks like this:
Code:
rtmpe://omnifoneflashfs.fplive.net/omnifoneconprod/content/aabcd236edc563a23d4b76890caad6be/mp4:1a2416a5d1c65d8a6d51c68e6bb65s6d?z=2093&customerclient=e9d813b574a01d5c0b4d5e6a5s45e6dc&token=ABsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDFGa456hdfsreHsRT56DFhsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDFGa456hdfsreHsRT56DFhsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDFGa456hdfsreHsRT56DFhsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDFGa456hdfsreHsRT56DFhsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDFGa456hdfsreHsRT56DFhsdfseFA564ZuiOhFe556DfgRSDF&signature=Ga456hdfsreHsRT56DFhasd%2faEf%2BASdfa456Dfsf%2Asdg433457678dfgsGAWebasdFAevdgwHdfgerSfg4dfG%2BAsdfasdfasdfsdd235343asfa345sfsdfghghksdf123346SDFGSHsf%2Asdfa3456sfgsfg088jgdfsdg3sgd4%3K&traceid=48915d786e513b6a6cfedd4cbb15abd6
+ what is being streamed is AAC-audio in a bitrate of ridiculously low 48kbps, streamed via the RTMPE-protocol.
+ the AAC-audio is wrapped in a *.FLV-container
+ your preferred stream downloader can download the track. i've tested the download and it works.
+ extract the AAC with FLVExtract. note that the audio is in raw data format and lacks any wrapper, i.e. the *.aac-file lacks the meta data in the header of a standard MP4-file (*.m4a, *.mp4). foobar2000 can still playback the file and convert it to mp3.
+ the download rate per track is exactly 6.0KB/s. (No surprise since 48kbps : 8bits/Byte = 6kilobytes/sec.)

Review summary:
i can highly recommend this service. it is cheap (1 month subscription = EUR9.99 only, plus the 30days FREE trial!! ), primitive, and the website is ultrafast and beautiful and the music sounds great! It is maybe the only worthy competitor against Google's new music service GOOM (Google Music).

If you need assistance with downloading the streams, go to: http://stream-recorder.com/forum/son...ity-t8589.html

Re: Sony Unlimited Music (Qriocity.com) review

*FYI* Nokia had a similar music subscription/download platform called "Comes With Music" ("Ovi Music Flat") and they admitted that they had failed after 3 years. Sony Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity is a new music subscription service (officially launched 2011-01-24) but market observers expect them to fail too because most people are already subscribed with Real Rhapsody and emusic, the 2 music-on-demand market leaders. i am now on a QMU subscription (because i dont like the *.OGG-streams by Spotify.com), FREE trial for 30 days. Qriocity is really nice and i like it and recommend it but Qriocity will fail (after 2 years) too like Nokia. Tim Schaaf, the head of Sony QMU, calls it himself "dead bodies" in an interview at MIDEM where the service was officially introduced to the public (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnRFBnTUIfg, watch from 17'50'' on!).

After all, it is beautiful music!!

A week in the dark was one thing. But it now looks like Sony's PlayStation Network cloud is battling a serious security breach, one that includes the theft of millions of accounts and possibly credit card numbers. In fact, this breach started as early as April 17th, according to our sources, though Sony is just now revealing the extent of the problem.

This involves as many as 17.1 million accounts, and may also go far beyond Mastercards and passwords. As part of its registrations, Sony also stored data like emails, birthdates, home addresses, transaction histories, and security questions. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained," Sony warned users. The company confirmed that the situation dates back to at least April 19th.

Yikes. The timing couldn't be worse, but it may be catastrophic for Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity. The cloud-focused music service just launched in the US, and the team was actually at the tail end of a promotional tour involving several cities (with at least two dates remaining). So, early signees cannot access their music, and may have had their personal data and credit card info stolen - what a start.

Already, US Senator Richard Blumenthal has stepped in, and asked Sony to provide free security accounts and two years of credit-monitoring services. That sounds sensible, and Sony may dealing with this security 'spill' for months. But the broader ripples are hard to calculate at this early stage. Music Unlimited could be crushed for good - and the fallout may even be felt by cloud music entrants like Amazon, Google, and Apple.
Folks, i cannot recommend their service!

basically it says that both Sony is scre*ed and their customers, and that customers should cancel/withdraw their credit cards (with their credit card issuing bank or financial institution) to forestall and prevent credit card number abuse by the hackers called "Anonymous".

translation? here with translate.google.com:

i am (one of) Anonymous, namely the stream steeling expert of that group
