Hi, I was wondering if someone knows the best way to record Soma.fm shoutcast and split and tag the tracks properly?
I use VLC to listen and the track names and artist are visible in the bottom panel of VLC every time the track changes. Also the Soma.fm webpage lists about 20 of the last played tracks on the shoutcast and updates each time the track changes.
I tried
Replay Media Catcher and in the log it shows the correct track titles being sent as the tracks change, but it doesn't cut the shoutcast into tracks and name them with those titles.
I'm trying with
Replay Music and I get a similar problem, when I go to split the recording everything shows up as unrecognized and isn't splitting into normal file sizes(5-10mb per 128k mp3 track). Both of the programs capture the shoutcast and make one huge mp3 fine, just splitting and tagging doesn't seem to work right.
I don't know if the programs try to listen to the track to identify it but since the titles are provided in the shoutcast at the right track change times I would figure they should just use those somehow.
If anyone knows how to do this properly or knows any better software please post.
