How to re-broadcast your SopCast stream with freeware VLC Player

To re-broadcast your SopCast stream with VLC:
  1. Start the SopCast stream and let it buffer.
  2. Start VLC, go to Open Network Stream, select "HTTP" option, and type in 127.0.0.1:8902 (If port 8902 doesn't work, try 8912).
  3. Hit the button at the left of the Play button and select Stream (Alternatively you can press "ALT+S").
  4. In the "Stream Output" dialog check the "MMSH" option and enter "127.0.0.1" into the "Address" editbox. Enter "1234" into the "Port" editbox.
  5. Hit the "Stream" button.
  6. Leave SopCast running (closing SopCast closes the stream).
  7. You may need to mute the sound in SopCast so it doesn't affect the sound in VLC.
