freeme2: "Unknown packet id" error

Well I got a problem with freeme2.
My operating system is Vista.

Key is generated, I paste it into the freeme2 directory. Then I drag n drop my wmv file onto freeme2.exe. It starts but when reaching 100% it says: "Unknown packet id - don't know what to do!"""""""| 100%"

What can I do here? And how can I test if it worked?

And you can try to make your wmv files seekable with software like freeware AsfBin GUI or Microsoft Windows media file editor. After re-indexing your WMV file, it should play just fine and the scrolling should also work without any problem.

Re: freeme2: "Unknown packet id" error

Hi, I`ve got similar problem with freeme2.
I`ve got KID and SID with drmdbg, and while making a file w/o drm freeme2 stucks at 58% with message
'Unknown packet id - don`t know what to do!'
Video seems to work only for half of the length, then it crashes.

Any ideas how to solve that or whats wrong ?
I`m using Vista.

Regards,
Wojtek

freeme2 has a couple of modes. The newer one is based on MPlayer, but you can try the old one. It might help.

Also I'm not sure whether this problem is related to Windows Vista or not, but you can try to use freeme2 on Windows XP...

Re: freeme2: "Unknown packet id" error

I`ve tried FreeMe2 on Vista, XP ProSP2 and Ubuntu 7.0.4, with mixed options -v or -v2. Everytime with the same result, like this :

Code:
wojtek@omg-its-linux:/media/Exploder/Hack&Fuck DRM/drm2wmv1241$ FreeMe2 -v2 stinger.odc.114.high.definition.wmv
Found DRMv2 header object.
Found KID (U2Xf3+36pkKNpH8fJhDknA==)
Found DRMv1 header object.
Starting to look for license.
<SID>ozDnBwj6IXu6DBgGNYr/iC0aOx0=</SID>
SID in Hex: a330e70708fa217bba0c1806358aff882d1a3b1d
Opened output file <Freed-stinger.odc.114.high.definition.wmv>
Starting to process data packets
299257 packets of length 8000
Unknown packet id - don't know what to do! | 58%

   Press <ENTER> to acknowledge error.
I`m not sure, but can drmdbg get wrong SID ?

May be sectroyer can answer on this. You can also try drm2wmv as an alternative to freeme2.

Re: freeme2: "Unknown packet id" error

Ok, I think I found the problem. The File with DRM could be corrupted.
I`ve tried another one and it went all ok, well error occured at 100%, but all the video is fine.

Thanks again

Re: freeme2: "Unknown packet id" error

I have gotten this error as well. My source file was 720x404, and freeme2 had outputted it out to 720x412 according to Media Player Classic. When i used Windows Media File Editor on the de-drm file it shows that the video is 720x404.
