live stream time zone selectionHi all,

Anybody has experience with positioning a client on a specified time point in the stream so it could act as time zone selection ? I'm using Helix Producer as encoder and Helix Server as streaming server. All ideas are welcome. Best regards |

Re: live stream time zone selectionYou may use SMIL metafiles to set positioning for a client. If course you will need a server-side script to generate such metafiles.

Re: live stream time zone selectionBut I don't understand how can I position the client inside a live broadcast, since the Helix server doesn't keep the stream in the cache. It is just streamed to the currently connected clients and then gone.

Or am I mistaking something ? Best regards, |

rtsp://somehost.com/somedir/01012004.rm?title=01/01/2004-Sometitle&start=1:30&end=2:03:18 usually such URLs are put in a RAM or SMIL metafile, but it is not obligatory. Clients only need to get a URL like this. |
