How do I play BBC live stream in VLC Media Player?

I really hope someone can help me out here.

I want to play live streams from the BBC website (Eg. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/watchlive/) in VLC Media Player.

Even with all the volume controls ramped up to full both in Windows nd on the BBC site itself, there is not enough volume.

VLC Media player offers what, for me, is a life changing feature - a 400% volume boost. I watch almost all video content (EG. Youtube/Dailymotion etc) using VLC, but, with BBC Live Player, it doesn't work. If I put the URL in, nothing happens.

Please, please, PLEASE can someone tell me how to do this?
