Anyone using Q-See Video Survelliance Camera/DVR Equipment? 4-camera DVR QSC26404?

Anyone using Q-See equipment? Specifically the four camera/320 Gig DVR. It' is the QSC26404 V2.1
This system is sold out of Anaheim, California & marketed thru Costco.
I would really like to dialogue with anyone using this equipment.
In my case I have it set up in Canada & am monitoring it in South Florida. It works well...to a point.
It has options on the remote screen of ;
1.) Play
2.) Playback
3.) Config
In Playback there is no problem, I can read four cameras in real time.
In playback is where I am having a problem as it plays even though there is no motion, it plays about every 3 or 4 minutes. Also all cameras play in concert with each other ie when one records all do.
The config looks much different than when I was home ie the menu is much different.

My setup is ADSL at the remote in Canada at 1.5Meg
My location in Florida is ADSL thru Embarq at 3 Meg.
My IP is handled by a third party as I have a dynamic IP in Canada

The help line of Q-See has been less than helpful thru e-mail, no answers to any questions.
The manual is pretty good but is meant for an on-site use, I set it up on site but now want to modify it remotely. There is no manual for this function.
I am hoping to contact someone that has one of these & exchange ideas on the unit.
Hope I can do this.
Thanks....Ernie
