.wmv files that are recorded from wmrecorder 11 not playing audio when played on mac,Hello,
I use WMRecorder 11 for windows via parallels. When I record webcast lectures (mediasite) streaming with wmrecorder 11, I get 2 files, .asx (i think a wmp playlist file) and .wmv When I play the .wmv files in WMP 11.0.6 I have no trouble - everything plays perfectly. When I try to put them on my external HD or on my Mac side of computer and play them on OS X tiger, I get video but no audio in Flip4mac, mplayer, divxplayer... and VLC opens the video, no audio, and displays this error message: "main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `wmas'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format." On the windows side, I don't actually see the extension .asx like I do on the Mac - it appears to be a WMP playlist icon with .wmv extension. Anyway, I thought it was a drm issue and tried getting the 11.0.6 version of drm removal software mirkagi with fairuse4wm... but it doesn't appear to have a drm header to remove. It's odd because when I try to view the mediasite stream via mac safari or firefox on tiger's side, I get video stream with no sound... and if I record on the mac side, I get video stream with no sound. If you have any insight, I would love your help. Thank you so much. |
