* record from sound card * auto split, encode to mp3, tag *
i've been looking for a freeware application that will record from my soundcard, split the songs into separate files, encode them into mp3s, then tag them, all automatically. i have found many that will record from the sound card, some which also encode the files into mp3s. i've only found one so far that will split the songs into separate files, but it didn't work well (jaksta free media recorder).
i haven't found any that will hunt down the track information and tag the files. i'm recording spotify, from which "spotify ripper," a simple free application, is able to get tag information (although on my system there were other problems which kept it from working), so i thought there might be something else out there that could do it.
i've done quite a bit of searching. at this point i would settle for a program that just records, splits the tracks into separate files, then encodes them into mp3s. and yes, i am aware that there are several non-freeware applications that will do this. no need to tell me about them.
any suggestions?
thanks
