Windows media Player trouble

Hi, I am a new member.
I am in trouble with WMP9. I use Windows 2000 Pro, with service pack4. I have 1GB RAM.

For a quite long time it all works fine. But now audio (video?) reproduced with WMP has gaps. Not silence, just gaps. It happens with radio, stream audio, reproducing files saved in hard disk, reproducing videos (e.g. the videos included in Flight Simulator 2004).
I uninstalled (and reinstalled) WMP, audio and video card drivers, with no change.
I suspect of an installation of RealPlayer, asked by an internet radio. I installed the software but it distorted severely, with radio and reproducing files, so I uninstalled it. I am not sure, by I suspect the actual trouble with WMP is somehow related.

Anybody can help, please?
Regards,
Guillermo

PS: I can attach a small mp3 illustrating the problem
