Accessing CCTV camera from a diifferent location through gateway and router

Hi guys,

I am wondering if you can help i have a slightly different situation.

I am doing work for someone else but the goal is the same.

I have a Netgear ethernet fs108 switch but this links up to a gateway BT Voyager, so these are separate. My DVR is connected to my ethernet switch. So do i use port forwarding on my switch still? Or do I have to do this on my gateway if its possible?

Having access to my cameras i will have to make first contact to my gateway right?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Ameen
