Hei,
I am new to this, and have an ebay DVR "JE-D3754", which is not a Hikvision, but is apparently based on the Hikvision 8000.

I am mainly happy with it, but have one problem. The DVR is installed at home on a fixed IP, and can be seen from elsewhere on the internet. But, from my work Internet Explorer is fixed to not allow unsigned ActiveX, and can't be changed. This may not be the only problem, but in IE I just can't view my home DVR from work.
I can also say that my work does not block much and is happy to allow youtube, etc, etc. The client software for the DVR also works from elsewhere on the internet, but not form work. It's not a host firewall problem.
Any ideas? Is there any easy way to set up a seperate web server web site, or something. I'm open to all options, but just can't see which way to go. The DVR can obviously broadcast to the internet. I thought of streeming tv services, but havent found one that supports connection to this dvr server. All the Hikvision NVR, iVMS 4000 and Stream Media Server software works form a LAN PC to connect to the DVR. I could set it up on a virtual server on the internet, but I still don't know how I would view it form work and what I'd gain by doing this. The DVR is 10% for security and 90% for wildlife spotting. The issue with the unsigned ActiveX also creates a problem for setting up others who would like to view the wildlife. I can pay a little for an exteranal server or service, but what?
Any ideas???
