When i wiped my c drive (which i've had to do before) i tried recording something through stereo mix on audacity and it sounds horrible quality wise.

I never had a problem after wiping hard drive and reinstalling before and i know its not audacity because it does it with other programs too. How do i get the sound in to increase in quality when recording.
