eurovisionsports.tv recording?

Hi all,

I'd like to record the gymnastics and diving championships from http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/ live streams later this week, because most of it is not available on TV. I have Mac and Windows available, Mac would be preferred.

What I did try is to download Jaksta (even the registered version) and see if it can deal with the recorded videos, as there's no live transmission going on for tests right now. I did try with http/rtmp settings on recording (but also downloading). Besides the fact they don't seem to see anything using Firefox (but they work on Chrome and Safari, so no problem there), they stop the recording after a short time, sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after half a minute, usually after 200MB-500MB were downloaded, and report the video to be "complete" (it is at the same point for a given video, and teh constant seems to be filesize, not duration). The actual video goes on in the browser however. The video itself is recorded fine, but only until the end point is received.

Of course I don't know if the problem will be the same in the live streams, and I can't try that out in advance. Does anybody know if this will be the case, and if there's any way around it? I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat :-)

I also installed rtmpdump/rtmpsuck on the mac, but that seems to be quite tricky. Is this really a path worth the effort, can it do more that Jaksta itself? I did read seemthing about fragmentation somewhere here, but it was a bit weird, and I'm not sure if this is going on here, and if it can be fixed.

Also, when the video is played in the browser, is it required to show it full screen? I ask because I would not want to have a shitty resolution saved just because the play window was chosen too small. But as this is not screen capturing, I guess it should not matter, unless the browser app is "too smart" and negotiates a lower resolution if the play window is small...

Thanks in advance,

Andy
