Help downloading olympics from http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/direct-replay/index.ht

Hi, I'm trying to download high quality videos of the olympic streams from http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/dire...lay/index.html

However, I can't seem to find any helpful information. I've looked at this topic: http://stream-recorder.com/forum/try...cs-t22074.html

I've installed the HDS Link Detector thing but nothing is showing up when I go to the video page. Can anyone who is more knowledgeable help me out?

I would try doing the VPN and NbcOlympics but now they require you to authenticate by inputting your TV service provider info in order to access the streams (you get 30 minutes free, after which you will have to identify yourself). Not being in the US, this is not an option for me (unless someone is willing to give me their info...).

Please! I want to capture the gymnastics, diving streams in the highest quality possible. Space is not an issue!

Thanks!

Try livestreamer, I was able to get onto the site using Hola,

Livestreamer.exe "Hds://Linkhere" --default-stream best -o Filename.ts

You can get the links for http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr using Google Chrome's developer tools as they are using a modified HDS.

This is what the links look like:
Code:
http://dvr-s.jo2016.francetv.fr/dvr/db439016-03eb-49a5-a473-39e80ab6408b/db439016-03eb-49a5-a473-39e80ab6408b.ism/manifest?hdnea=ip=151.236.21.169~st=1470645111~exp=1470645141~acl=/*~hmac=c882ce5c99215217a837b8865d80cf98ee1572262bfb14dd89df5e915031025e

Thanks! I'm on vacation right now so won't be able to try, but I'll let you know how it goes when I get back. Hopefully I'll be able to make it work. Thanks again!

Re: Help downloading olympics from http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/direct-replay/inde

Hi,

I'm getting an error when trying to input the link:
error: No plugin can handle URL:"URL"

I've read that the link expires fast. But I'm inputting the command within at most 10 seconds from it appearing in the Firefox developer console.

An example of a link I have: http://dvrbrazil-s.jo2016.francetv.f...abaebfe56b9f04

I'm pretty sure that's the kind of link, right? Can you help give me some insight on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks again!

Ok, so I don't exactly know what I've been doing differently, but I'm getting different results (still not downloading though).

I'm getting either:
[cli][info] Found matching plugin stream for URL Hds://"URL"
error: Unable to open URL:"URL" (403 Client Error: Forbidden)

Or:
[cli][info] Found matching plugin stream for URL Hds://"URL"
error: No stream found on this URL: Hds://"URL"

Note: I'll also say that I've tried this method in this reddit thread here (hlsvariant instead of Hds). Gives same results.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

In my opinion, as a non expert:
  • it is not a HLS stream but rather an IIS smooth streaming
  • you should post the manifest to get the confirmation of other people

You can still download the videos using Captvty, you will get a list of videos in a dedicated section or you can input the url of the video you want to download.

Normally, IIS stream should be downloadable with ISMDownloader but it seems that the tool needs an update to be able to download the stream with this kind of manifest.

Re: Help downloading olympics from http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/direct-replay/inde

Thanks but I've already tried Captvty. That program only allows you to download what was shown on TV, not the direct streams that are available on the site of your local broadcaster. An example of the kind of stream I want to download is here:
http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/vide...ala-31645.html

An example of the manifest I got was posted in post 4 of this thread,
http://stream-recorder.com/forum/sho...82&postcount=4

With the end of the Olympics approaching, I fear the videos will be taken offline soon after the end. So if any body can give me any tips to making the downloads work, I'd really be grateful. I already had to give up the idea of downloading the 2012 Olympics because the method I used kept resulting in incomplete downloads. I'd really like to get a chance to finally download everything I want for memories sakes.

Thanks!

The url to the manifest has already expired.
You have to download it and copy / paste here.

For Captvty, you have to click on the first left icon, (the one above Rio 2016) and copy / paste the link to the raw stream you want to download.

Then, click on "Rechercher" and you should have the possibility to download the stream at the quality you want.

By the way, is anyone able to use ISMDownloader 2 with current IIS manifests?

PS: no problem to download the "gymnastique artistique gala" stream.
Of course, you have to use the latest version of Captvty...

Re: Help downloading olympics from http://rio2016.francetvsport.fr/direct-replay/inde

Oh shoot. I was pretty sure I had tried with Captvty and it didn't work before! Could be that the latest version was made to work with it (I had tried at the beginning of the games). Edit: Yes, the release notes state the the latest release was made to be compatible with the Rio 2016 content, so I am right in saying it did not work with it before.

Seems to be downloading!

I can't believe it's working! It's so simple. No need for command codes, no need to find the manifest, etc. Could it really be?

Thank! I'll let you guys know how it goes!
