live webcast interviews: set up 2 mics and video camera for live webcast and archiveWe made our first attempt at conducting a series of live webcast interviews. However, we used a USB mich to capture the audio... and a standard video camera to capture the video. That worked great for the live webcast... but the recorded version used the video camera's michrophone which picked up tons of ambient noise and background voices. So my thought for next year is to use some sort of 2-channel mich system that feeds directly into the video camera... and then use the video camera sound for the live webcast as well as the recorded archive of the video. Even better would be some sort of wireless setup.
Any reccomendations? Thanks in advance! Mike |

Re: live webcast interviews: set up 2 mics and video camera for live webcast and archWhat I do for our live video webcast is this: I use 2 cheap ($20) one sided computer headset mics. They are 3.5mm, so I got an adapter at radioshack so I can plug both in at the same time. They sound really great ,believe it or not. very clear and loud. Then I come out of the headphone jack in my computer and into my camera or recording device. This way you can get the same sound as what everyone else is hearing through the webcast. You can also control the volume of the output from the headphone jack, on the computer itself. Just your headphone volume in your settings will control it. It's a really great and cheap way to get great sound. Hope this helps. Let me know if it did. God Bless*

I can recomend some software for this if you don't mind doing the software thing as opposed to hardware: Check out our information on Screen Capture Programs If you still prefer to go the hardware route, it looks like lasiter_mcl has a good idea too. |
