Rhapsody (formerly known as Real Rhapsody), or short: RHDY, is the oldest commercial online music service. this review covers some general info on their service, subscription options, etc.

New users. officially, RHDY offers 2 types of subscription services: Premium, and Premium Plus. And FREE trial period be 14 days only. But that's about half of the truth.

Clearly, you cannot sign up for a 30days FREE TRIAL of RHDY BASIC or a 30days FREE TRIAL of RHDY PREMIER PLUS. I do recommend the 30days FREE TRIAL of RHDY PREMIER -- which is enough time for testing the service. And if you like it, they charge only US$9.99 per month when you begin your 31st day of using the service.

Ah, the main differences between BASIC, PREMIER, UNLIMITED and PREMIER PLUS? erh.. well... with PREMIER PLUS you can download as much as you want (the music tracks) to your hdd and also to your mobile gadgets (ipod, iphone, ipad, ..), with BASIC you can merely listen online in front your PC screen (real-time streaming). here is another proof of the existing RHDY BASIC service. you cant find an official link on the rhapsody homepage (those b******s!!) until you cancel your concurrent subscription. then they offer it. Surprise: RHDY BASIC, 0-days free trial, then US$4.99/month

Important: all the given rhdy-links in the code sections work only for surfers from U.S. American territories .

when you try to sign up for another FREE trial by using the same old credit card RHDY says no thanks:
...which is similar to eMusic FREE trial subscriptions. If you want another FREE RHDY trial, feel free to cancel your credit card and order a replacement card from your bank.

Rhapsody has been losing customers (subscribers) for 1-1.5 years. Many subscribers have dropped out of their service (for various reasons) and so did i, and now RHDY is desperate about the acquisition of new members (subscribers). Poor rhapsody!!
RHDY is practically an already dead company .. but some of their investors (Best Buy, ...) simply dont want to give up or sell the company to the competition (Thumbplay, Sony, Google).

In the long run only a small handful of music services can survive (by market laws). let me place my bet:

+ iTunes
+ eMusic
+ goom (Google Music)
+ Amazon
+ spotify

They are the biggest (financially strongest) companies and in nature only the strong survice.

this is to reconfirm that the above offer has expired or doesnt exist any longer. I've checked their homepage. It is da gone!



There are rumors that this same type of offer (2months FREE trial) will be offered again during fall 2011, that is in ~6 months. So stay tuned!
