replay media catcher authentication every time it starts

Is it true that the Replay Media Catcher program is authenticating and thus sending my ip adress to the remote server of applian every time it starts ?!
Because when I denied the access the 'buy it' button reappears again when I restart it together with a message saying that authentication failed.



any suggestions ???

I feel like an idiot having chosen the 'official' approach this time.

Most probably Replay Media Catcher checks whether the program is registered or not, and checks for updates. I don't think the registration should be checked once only, because otherwise it would be easier to make a cracked version. And I don't think Applian needs your IP address... what would they do with it anyway?
