looking for a special recording program for live streams of sport games

Hi guys! I'm looking for a special program which could do this...

For example i'm watching a football stream on the internet and i don't wanna record the whole show. It's a 15 minute in the game and a penallty. Is there a program where i could now just click a record button and the recording of a video would start and after 3 minutes i can stop the recording then???

thanks for your help!

Re: looking for a special recording program

Most streaming video recorders allows you to stop downloading/capturing. Even if the option is called "Cancel" recording, in most cases you don't use the content saved already. I suggest you to try software (All programs are free or free to try).

If you post the URL of the web-page you want to record from, we will try to suggest you the best software.

I was thinking about site like justin.tv or p2p4u.net where you can watch live streams of sport games.

Which program should i use for those?

Justin TV uses RTMP flash video streams. Most streams at p2p4u.net come from Justin TV as well. Many others like cycast.tv, justin.tv, freedocast, ustream.tv, livestream.com use RTMP flash video streams as well.

Also p2p4u.net Windows Media streams like the ones from BBC.

Despite the name of the web-site few streams at p2p4u.net use p2p TV players like TVUPlayer.

All these streams can be recorded with screen video capture software. Depending on your Internet connection, it might be the best way to record live streams.

To record RTMP live flash video stream I suggest to use Replay Media Catcher and Jaksta. Both programs support Windows Media streams as well.

The best programs to record Windows Media streams are WM Recorder, WebVideoCap and GetASFStream, but from these programs only WM Recorder can record RTMP and HTTP flash video streams as well.

To record from TVUPlayer you can use freeware VLC player.
