How do adult webcam sites stream high quality video ?

I was wondering if somebody could explain me how adult sites like myfreecams.com deliver video to the vistors of the site ?

Does anybody know what software they use for the rtmp streams ? (Red5, Adobe Flash Media server ??)

How is it possible to have such high quality video, if for example a girl from Russia is streaming it from her webcam. Is it first streamed from the webcam to the servers of myfreecams, and then
sent out to the website, or does it stream directly from russia ?

I would appreciate if anybody that knows more about this could explain me a little how they do this.

(I got interested in this technology, trying to record the livestreams from Myfreecams, just curious how it works from the side of the video streamer)
