Capture/Record rtmp:// stream from Adobe FlashPlayer 9 (VBS.TV)

I'm using URL Helper which usually works but I can't get a decent link to this streaming video.

http://www.vbs.tv/player.php?bctid=5...NzA0X19FVE M=

I REALLY want to be able to download these interviews. Can anyone help me out?

Re: Getting/Capturing/Downloading .FLV flash videos streamed through the http protoco

Please try Flash video recorders supporting RTMP protocol.

I suggest you to use Replay Media Catcher.

Re: Capture/Record rtmp:// stream from Adobe FlashPlayer 9 (VBS.TV)

Thanks, I was able to record it but there's something wrong with the sound. Every few seconds there's this sound that's kind of hard to describe - I guess it sounds like the audio is skipping. But it's in the background, the actual audio of people talking isn't affected. What is that and why is it happening?

Oh, and can I try and re-download the flv files without having to stream the media again?

So when you play the stream you don't have any problem with audio, but after recording it you do. Did I get this right?

When you see that stream recorder is capturing your RTMP stream, I suggest you to click the Stop or Pause button in your flash player (not in the recorder!). Although sometimes this is not a good idea (in cases when video have multiple episodes), but in other cases it reduces your bandwidth used by the flash streams twice and thus you can make a more reliable recording.

You have to play the stream again so that Replay Media Catcher can find the stream URL.

That's weird. I tried it again and I also recorded from another site that uses the same format and the background skipping noises still happened. So I made an mp3 of the video for someone to hear and tell me what that noise is but now the skipping noise is gone. I guess I'll just add the mp3 to the video.

I wish Vice would hurry up and let people download their videos to their iPod like they said they would back in February.
