Avtech H.264 DVR 8CH Audio: Have audio input, but can't hear any sound.

Hello,

Currently I have audio input to my dvr, the audio has been tested worked, but as I plugged to my dvr, I can't hear any sound.

Could someone help me how to get it works, or maybe a little explanation about how the audio stream is processed through the dvr.

Thanks,
Regards, Andy

I only work with older DVRs and I do not work with new DVRs. You have H.264 therefore I am of no help to you.

Read your manual. There should be some kind of audio icon. It will have three colors (or two colors and greyed out as the third) for each status state. Off / live audio / playback audio.

Check your audio inputs and your camera inputs. For instance. You may have to put audio on input audio 1, and you will have to put that camera video on camera input 1.

I find that the older DVRs that you can press the audio status button through the DVR "keyboard", and it is difficult to change the status via the server program.

I am not sure what your audio problem is, but I am guessing that you do not have the audio in the correct status mode.

What do you think?
